Hidden subscription scam
Auto-cote com also trades as Auto-valo com Both sites are operated by Carchecker Limited a UK company and offer the same services I made a payment of 0 99 on the website auto-valo com for a Crit Air certificate for my car While my application was made on the auto-valo com website it was acknowledged by auto-cote com This amount 0 99 was then debited from my debit card 3 days later the same company took a further payment of 29 supposedly for additional monthly services I did not knowingly enter into a contract for additional services This is clearly a scam and I now see that several other people have fallen for it This is clearly not a misunderstanding because who in their right mind would want to pay 350 per year for other services The company does not answer the phone They give a French phone number They are registered to a hosting address in England I now know that this is a hidden subscription scam and that this particular operator under several different companies registered in England has had numerous complaints about the exact same scam
