Black on Board is a birthplace for aspiring board members I am a perfect example that they turn babies to giants and dreamers to champions I secured two A category board roles under 30 days of attending their training I therefore happily recommend them to any one willing to shatter the glass ceilings and fulfil their aspirations of becoming a board member Non-executive Director

The premise of BOB is clear provide the tools to enable me prepare for a board role The course was factual practical and relatable it made a potentially daunting process very achievable Lara s approachability obvious wealth of experience and valuable nuggets meant I was as ready as I could be in applying for a board role Having recently secured my first one I will be back for more insight to progress my board membership journey and look forward to a more comprehensive exchange of knowledge underpinned by experience Highly recommended

I participated in the Zoom sessionPreparing your Board Ready CV June 2021 this session was recommended by my younger sister Date attended June 2021 Length Approximately 3 3 hrsTrainer Ms Lara OyedeleCompany Black On Board LtdVenue ZoomThis session was attended by approximately 6 other participants and lasted 3 and half hours I knew very little regarding the definitions and roles of a trustee board member non-exec director commissioner governor etc so it was an eye opener What I very quickly realised is that I didn t have an appropriate C V covering letter or supporting statement to apply for any board roles What you require is clarity and a 2 page simplified summary of your experiences and roles Ms Odeyele had an excellent sense of humour and all the participants contributed to the conversations and questions She explained it was important to have a structured C V She continued to talk about key competencies and board readiness She ended the session talking about training and guides and collators with relevant links to references to writing a good Board C V I thoroughly enjoyed the session and left leaving with a new sense of purpose and Self worth value and motivation Highly recommended I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ms Oyedele for providing such an informative and interactive session My Oyedele is a highly qualified professional warm friendly and compassionate trainer mentor Thank you Ms Oyedele I hope I can use your session to apply for a few roles in the future Kindest regardsSabeena

Excellent service from Lara She is so knowledge of the industry and the standards and expectations she was able to assist me in drafting a CV that is fit for purpose for getting an interview Following a few sessions with Lara she was able to help to identify additional skills that I had gained from my qualifications and experience which further enhance my CV and helped me to secure a position as a school governor Lara supported myself and friends to develop a LinkedIn profile that stood out and made it easier to attract opportunities for Board positions
