Couldn t help and badmouthing competitors who could

I called Country Connect after finding out we could only get 1mb broadband at our new home I was in a bit of distress as I have my own business and can only work from home Without wifi I can t earn They took my details and went to run some searches to see if they could get signal at my house They came back the next day to tell me we couldn t get signal where we were moving and they couldn t help I told them that one of their competitors told me we could get signal They asked the name of the supplier and when I told them they VERY sarcastically said Oh well good luck with that then This was incredibly bad customer service to someone they knew had a problem and knew was really concerned about being able to get access to the internet This was NOT a genuine good luck message but dry and sarcastic and I left the call incredibly frustrated Luckily their competitor knew something they didn t and they sent me my 4g LTE router with o2 sim before we moved and we plugged it in and off we went Netflix video calling and internet working like a dream I think Country Connect should think about how they let customers down if they don t feel they are able to help and cut out the sarcasm it isn t a good look

Avoid if they can t give you fibre check out STARLINK instead

Country Connect gave me several package options last year for internet service in a rural area Not fibre but line of sight microwave I think to a dish on my house They had trouble installing it as the first team didn t seem to know what they were doing The second team got it up and running with a bigger dish They guaranteed 50Mbps however this is ONLY IF HARD WIRED TO A COMPUTER In reality using the very tacky router they provided I get around 20Mbps over wifi on a good day sat next to the router which is worse than the mobile service I already had There have been ongoing issues with performance where I do not get 50Mbps and which they say is interference from next door and that I should talk to my neighbour about it They have been completely unhelpful in this regard and say intereference with their equipment is not their problem Essentially I am paying 65 per month for a very unreliable relatively low speed system and I am locked in for 36 months BIG MISTAKE I recommend looking at STARLINK which has a cheaper upfront cost and is 75 per month only 10 month more than CC with no tie in and where I live gives speeds of 250Mbps Also the Country Connect wireless bundle price list is very misleading in that it doesn t include VAT

CC bungled phase 1 instalation

CC bungled phase 1 instalation connected to the wrong house so phase 2 not possible at appointed time So had to use another day s holiday while CC did phases 1 and 2 at the same time During the new phase 1 CC managed to snap the BT Open Reach cable Although I signed up to the deal where CC don t charge until the end of my existing broadband contract Aug 22 they invoced the day after the service started Apr22 Got that reversed but a new invoice was issed and collected on in May 22 More time wasted hanging on the phone to sort that out Today 22nd May 22 total service outage from lunch time Promised to restore by 18 30 or sooner It s now 21 00 and still no service If they hadn t snapped my Open Reach wire I could have turned my TalkTalk router back on but alas I regret the day I was stupid enough to fall for their smooth marketing stuff wish I d had nothing to do with them

Bad customer service

I m paying for the top bracket and usually get close to 1000mbps download This week it s dropped to around 70mbps On both wired and WiFi I had issues before with purefibre but they actually were really helpful and sorted it for me Now Country connect have taken over they are making it really difficult for me I ve sent them screenshots of my tests and they are saying my tests aren t a valid way of recording the speeds and i need a laptop wired in I don t have a laptop The tests I m sending are valid and there is something wrong but they are refusing to help I ve been backward and forward all week via their AI software and email tickets as they are closed by the time i finish work It s so frustrating I have had this problem before with pure fibre the previous provider They took my tests seriously and got the problem sorted their end

Nomally spot on but their cables keep

Not entirely as expected

We have had the 900mb system in place for a few months and whilst the communication was good the overall speed for me has been dissapointing Firstly as you can see others have had positive experiances and I would always prefer to work with local suppliers but on this particular occasion I slightly regret taking out the contract that I did I have the Mikrotik router 165 extra and also the Tenda mesh network kindly supplied by country connect to help the issues we were having The hardware itself isn t the most advanced no WiFi 6 only 1 ethernet port and was originally faulty and then taken away to he repaired Country connect have been out a few times to try and resolve the issue but now I feel I m in a position where I just have to simply accept the speeds that I am getting which is considerably lower than my expectation Despite the speed coming in to the property at 900mbs the WiFi speed when sat in the same room as the main router comes through at between 200-300 This wouldn t be an issue if it was consistent as it was promised that the mesh network would provide stability but it varies drastically throughout the house I have 2 nodes upstairs that form the mesh network but upstairs I get between 5-70 mbs with 4 devices connected For comparison I was with sky previous and had a single mini box upstairs in 70mbs Internet and I was getting 65mb download speed Now I have 900mbs package but still often getting less than I was through sky The speed is faster wired but as the mesh system is connected to the router and there is only 1 ethernet port nothing else can be wired which is dissapointing I have had 2 visits to resolve the issue and have pretty much been told now that there are lots of factors affecting WiFi etc The system is considerably more expensive and if I could go back I would likely still use country connect but opt for the 100mb package as at the moment that s all I m really getting in the majority of my property yet paying for 900 Again to stress this is solely my experiance which could be an anomaly I know others are getting great speeds which makes it all the more frustrating I have nearly 2 years left in the contract but at this stage I m not sure I would renew next time around

Brilliant - Way beyond my expectations

Mark and his team have been a real life saver Our previous connection averaged around 9mbs when standing close to the router and almost no signal at the back of the house at my desk where I currently need to video call clients and colleagues throughout the day Within 2 hours of Country Connect turning up I had almost 100mbs throughout the WHOLE house - AMAZING Thanks guys really appreciated
