TriLens is not secure enough

I have used the TriLens product a number of times but I was always nervous that the locking pins were not secure enough Sure enough at a shoot a few days ago when I was removing the TriLens from my belt my 18 000 kr Sony 50mm f1 2 GMaster lens fell off and was completely destroyed when it hit the cement floor This product is a great idea but the locking pins are simply not secure enough I will never use it again and I highly reocmmend that unless the design is modified to be more secure that anyone else avoid using this product Update Frii Designs contacted me directly in a sincere attempt to establish what went wrong We were not able to clearly establish the cause of the incident They refunded me the cost of the product which was generous considering that they were under no obligation to do so This almost covered the cost of my insurance excess I applaud them for this but it has not restored my confidence in the product Further update 24 8 21 Just to clarify - I had received one of the new units with the new springs I had a lengthy discussion with Frii Designs and the reason for the failure was never established I have since heard from Trustpilot that Frii Designs are trying to have this critical review removed claiming that they do not believe that I have done business with them

Terrible company to deal with

I ordered the trilens belt with express delivery but got a call from DHL saying I needed to pay an extra 38 custom fees which are clearly stated are covered on the website I have tried contacting Frii multiple times on both email and social media but have not received a single reply So currently I have no trilens and no refund

Deceptive handling of customs charges

I ordered the TriLens and Maestro belt but have received a notification from Royal Mail that there s a customs charge of 38 60 This is unexpected since the site accepts payment in offers free delivery to the UK and has no warning that items are being shipped from another country or that customs isn t covered And after a bit more looking it seems that FRII DESIGN ARE BEING INTENTIONALLY DECEPTIVE If I add only the TriLens to my basket then Frii design s checkout clearly states All duty fees taxes are included However once I add the Maestro belt this is silently removed I assume this is because in the UK customs is only charged on imports worth more than 135 So when the order price is low enough that there is no customs to pay Frii design meaninglessly claim that they ve paid All duty fees taxes But as soon as the order costs enough that customs are due Frii design silently remove this claim and KNOWINGLY LEAVE THE CUSTOMER LIABLE FOR CUSTOMS FEES WITH NO WARNING

I really appreciate the time and effort

I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this project and product providing us photographers with the best toy a prime lens user could ever have and not only as it can handle also heavy zooms I have been watching you since you first started you Kickstarter campaign until you won and went to mass production and shipping From my experience trilens makes my life easier when using it at an event as I use only 3 primes 20-1 8 50-1 4 85-1 4 Slick design well built with carefulness to all details sturdy Would love to see a development of the product with a cross shoulder strap if possible And at last guys your shipping blew me away 1 day shipping via DHL SWE to ROU Cheers to them and to you for the promptness With all my heart to you guys from Romania good job very well done thank you and as I like to wish to my fellow photographers Good light to you guys

Update item delivered

Update I received the item Frii Designs was not at fault while it did take a little longer the item had already been delivered when I submitted this review My fault entirely Original review I ve been waiting for three weeks now with no response Paid with a debit card amount deducted but no delivery Emailed support two weeks ago to ask but no reply

Been using my TriLens for 20 weddings

Been using my TriLens for 20 weddings and this thing is a tank Superb build quality and a real life saver since I love shooting with primes and used to spend a TON of time switching lenses

A responsive and proactive customer service

The FriiDesigns team has embarked on a great adventure of creating solutions for photographers Whenever I encountered a problem the customer service always found a solution I know the problem of the security of the TriLens which breaks Luckily I hadn t mounted anything on it I was able to contact the company and they immediately offered to sending me the new security version for free The exchanges have always been fluid and fast I can only recommend to my photographer friends to buy from Frii Designs Thanks for the adventures with your products

Where is the Package

There was no update on package on my email but after reaching out to customer service I was able to get that sorted out in less than a day Great customer service Back to 5 stars

Had an issue with the Tri-lens belt

Had an issue with the Tri-lens belt holster where the keyring pull would often ping out Working as a festival photographer meant losing this and having an insecure holster Contacted Frii and not only did they redesign the pin for me from my feedback but sent the replacement free of charge It s nice to see a company actually being proactive and listening to their customers Now I want them to make a durable belt to go along with the holster
