Found this company through a conveyancer comparison website Was phoned by one of the directors who gave a very plausible pitch and a fixed fee quote which turned out to be anything but Impossible to get anyone on the phone Case was handled by 6 different people The first person was incompetent--didn t know how to use the app and was very slow in moving the sale forward The app only runs on a mobile phone not tablet or pc You can t download any of the forms TR1 etc I was repeatedly told I hadn t filled out the forms when I d done so within 48 hrs of downloading The problem with conveyancers like these is that they have you over a barrel All the money for the house sale passes through them so they effectively help themselves on completion day Never received a completion statement until completion day itself when an additional 200 charge appeared without any prior notice or justification Read the terms of business very carefully There s a long list of extra charges which they can stick you with

The purchase nearly fell through because my so-called fee earner not an actual solicitor responded too slowly critical documents Almost no progress was made from mid-August to mid-September 2022 leading the vendor to threaten to pull out Their initial response to my criticism over this was to try and upsell an option to expedite the case After this incident I pointed out that GD s no sale no fee policy would mean they would not get paid if the sale fell through the fee-earner then became more responsive However she remained frustrating to work with failing to answer direct questions on several occasions The purchase eventually completed and the fee earner s eventual work was at least thorough and reliable I chose GD because of their positive reviews However I suspect some of these may not be genuine as my experience was poor

The usual apathetic approach to conveyancing Cheap but if your a human being that likes to know where their money is I would avoid

I received a quote from ReallyMoving but when I called them they said that they can t locate that quote and quoted me 60 higher based on the same information Then in the fine print of that quote I see an additional 25 mandatory disbursement not included in the quote sneaky The person I spoke with Lewis refused to do address or do anything about this - just kept repeating ultimately the choice is yours I submitted a complaint about this and no response in 12 days So dear prospective buyers the choice is yours

A bit of mixed experience I was assigned to two case handler the first seems to be too busy to handle my case at the time Some update were missing and I was unaware that the seller s side was in touch and the contract pack was ready for about two weeks over a week since they received the pack And I had to chase the agent to learn about it However things improved since I have been reassigned to Faizan He has been responding promptly and updates are fast There have been problems but they have been resolved and communication was good Couldn t give better review owing to the initial experience but Faizan definitely earned the extra two stars would have been one otherwise

I used GD Chelsea for a house sale and the whole process was stress free Excellent value too However not quite the same on the purchase side

Never used a solicitors before and was recommended GD by the estate agents didn t know what to expect but lucky was given Myisha who helped us through with our first house buy she was very helpful throughout although we never met her in person she made us feel comfortable and at ease with the purchase of our home would recommended Myisha highly the app I found pointless as never gave you and update was only used for signing and sending stuff

Overall a very efficient and professional service with a special mention 5 stars to Zumman Ahmed who supported me throughout with excellent communication and prompt turn-around of documents GD Legal lose one star for failing to notify me in advance that a standard 10 day completion date incurs an additional cost of 120 With that proviso I can highly recommend this service

After deciding to put our house up for sale and downsize after 26 years we were quite unsure what to expect from solicitors Our estate agent recommended a firm of solicitors but I shopped around and decided to use GD legal mostly due to the unbiased advice I received when I first telephoned them All I can say is we were very pleased with our choice they were very knowledgeable and professional every step of a very traumatic process and we would highly recommended them in the future

Would be a 10 10 but there was a couple of times I had to get in touch for an update not having heard anything for a couple of weeks We eventually realised that it was the other side dragging their feet The rest of the process was made painless by gd On the whole very pleased very competitive price
