My husband bought the Gertrude Hawk
My husband bought the Gertrude Hawk chocolate covered almonds and the chocolate covered raisins yesterday The ingredients list bioengineered food which means which ingredient is GMO Then I see in ingredients made with TBHQ made from petroleum This is thanks to Tertiary Butylhydroquinone a preservative and antioxidant that prevents unsaturated oils from becoming rancid TBHQ is derived from petroleum and is a form of butane making it equivalent to lighter fluid I returned the packages of chocolate and I will never buy their chocolate in the future until they sell a product not contaminated and toxic

Not Good Chocolates
My wife and I were visiting Scranton and I saw the Gertrude Hawk store I bought dark sea salt caramels and milk chocolate truffles The flavor of the chocolates was reminiscent of the inexpensive hollow chocolate bunnies real cheap I will not by from this company again

Poor customer service
I ordered two boxes of chocolates got it at the sale price plus a promotion had to pay 12 for ground shipping I sucked it up and paid the shipping because I really want the chocolate since they closed the store by where I live during Covid A half hour later I literally get a text message saying I can get free ground shipping I called Gertrud Hawk although the woman was nice She wasn t helpful at all She literally told me I could Place a new order with the promotion codes To get a discount off the chocolate plus the free shipping She said could cancel my order and credit should appear on my credit card statement in 5 to 10 business days I ve worked in retail long enough to know that you can void same-day transactions so basically they want to double charge me for their error They made on their part by not giving me the free shipping code before I placed my order That really sucks I won t be ordering their chocolate anymore It s Valentine s Day The least you can do is offer promotions on your chocolate plus free shipping

Terrible experience
I ordered 4 items for Easter to be delivered since I live out of town This is the first time I did this since my kids love their chocolates I paid the 12 shipping which is ridiculously expensive but knew they would be excited I ordered 2 items for each of them I receive the package with only 3 and the form stating the 6 peanut butter Easter decorated ones are sold out Nobody notified me which is unacceptable when I placed the order on Monday and it didn t arrive until Saturday I will never purchase from them again and I will make sure my large family in PA doesn t either I should have bought from Michael Mootz which is better quality and they would not have done this to me
