Bert Schouwenburg Rules OK
GMB are great Was represented by Bert who was utterly fantastic My LA has two unions Unison and GMB GMB are infinitely better Unison are all about squeezing the dues from the membership and it s like giving money to the church plate as an insurance against the after life in case you are on the road to hell And exactly as useful GMB are about fighting for the members and they really care They are the best union I have ever dealt with in thirty five years of work

I ve been a member since 1987 the then GMWU which amalgamated with the boiler makers into GMB GMB is an excellent trade union it has huge resources to research represent recruit and service members and also has substantial clout politically GMB has a big voice over the years I ve won cases in court with no legal fees and 100 per cent compensation NO 25 per cent cut for the ambulance chasers I d highly recommend becoming a GMB member the officers I work with are dedicated loyal and hard working and a mine of information helpful to any worker who needs protection and the advancement of their interests at the workplace I am now a GMB regional Convenor and sit on several committees as a non paid volunteer GMB is not just a union it s a family As for some of the reviews below why have some the authors not used their own names I don t think any Trade union mine either is perfect nor any organisation however my long association with GMB has been hugely positive The price of membership is a price of a coffee or a glass of beer in a pub every week for comprehensive protection in the workplace and a whole raft of other services from pay negotiation to legal representation to home insurance and other services at discounted rates Its a no brainer check the GMB website out Kind regards Simon Duncan

As a member of the GMB
As a member of the GMB I have always had my terms and conditions negotiated through collective bargaining giving us Good pay and additional benefits The Officers I have spoken with have always been full of knowledge when I ve contacted them regarding issues helping get resolutions and winning compensation as a result of the employer not consulting in line with the legislation I would recommend being a member as a insurance against unscrupulous employers who would love nothing more than signaling out individuals and attacking terms and conditions

Unlimited support and fantastic reps
I ve had unlimited support more than I could have imagined I am was office staff My rep Simon Singh supported me in my stage 3 and stage 4 panel meeting and was amazing throughout Also Paul Melia Rep took his own time to support me and my rep to prepare for the meeting Since then I ve had support from GMB as a whole and truly appreciate it

Darren Herd union rep is amazing
I found GMB online and to go with them was the best decision My rep Darren Herd was amazing from start to finish He really listened to me and was always empathetic ensuring that I felt comfortable with the decisions being made around my work complaint and final resignation Before I joined this union I felt very anxious and alone with what to do and with Darren s help I have had the best outcome that I could have wished for so I am truly grateful for that Thank you

Was going through a very bad time
Was going through a very bad time unable to get psychologist due to covid couldn t continue at work ohs said that I was not fit for my duties in the ambulance service after almost 30 years my union rep helped me every step of the way and finally after almost 2 years off work he managed to get me my stage 1 pension due to incapacity to do my or any dutiesThank you
