Helpful staff

The customer service staff are helpful Malcolm looked after me today very well for example The prices are the best on the market I took a star off because there was some admin confusion whereby staff don t realise that the email boxes are no longer attended Everything has to be done over the phone now which is not so efficient

Competitive premium in 1st year

The sales experience was positive and the premium was competitive and I decided to switch from my previous insurer website easy to use It will be interesting whether customer loyalty will be reflected in the renewal quote next year With insurance you are buying a claims service you hope not to use I m not in a position to rate the claims experience

To be honest

To be honest I do not remember much about taking out our home and contents insurance with you therefore it must have been easy and straight forward I did not take your email incentive route as I assumed that it would have been more expensive If I was wrong then I am still open to an incentive cheeky

You live and learn

My last provider jacked up its pricing on renewal which prompted me to look around for a better deal I actually ended up paying more for roughly the same package which is my own silly fault for not doing a proper like-for-like comparison Not quite the outcome I was hoping for but it isn t the fault of Homeprotect It was easy to select a suitable product and the transaction was very smooth As a footnote top marks to Homeprotect Customer Services who contacted me after this review to see if anything can be done

Empty property insurance - good price good experience

Got empty property insurance from Homeprotect while waiting for the property to sell Price was good with reasonable cancellation fee Had no problems at all with them While I feel mean rating only 4 I feel with no reason to make a claim and therefore no experience of that I do not have the knowledge to give 5 Cancellation when the property was sold was smooth done through web chat I was reminded about the cancellation fee which I already knew from purchase of policy and the refund will go back to the payment method

I was having problems obtaining insurance for a property I asked Google and Homeprotect popped up I ve not heard of them before Their website is quick easy to use and I had a competitive quote within a short amount of time It was also easy to review different options before paying The payment process was also straight forward but for some reason could not authenticate the card I wanted to use deduct one star

Automatic renewal is useful but

Automatic renewal is useful but it would be better if I got an e mail advising my policy is due for renewal with increased cost and policy changes applicable for review and agreement before implementing If customer is away from home for an extended period they don t see the renewal until it has been done
