Can t give an opinion on the company

Can t give an opinion on the company We bought the cover online our Son in Law helped us to do that the cover seems to be extensive however we won t know how good this company is until and if we have to make a claim Fingers x we don t but the measure of an insurance company I believe is how they actually deal with a claim

Insurance a gamble but as welcome as dental checkup

Retirement flat since 2917 but during COVID fiasco had to go between that Wembley flat which I sold 2022 so canx Wembley insurance You sent retirement flat policy to Wembley Obviously no-one understood instructions A bored sounding customer service person went through my renewal asking same questions answered in 2017 - why can t you just Google view property beforehand as roof style hasn t changed I ve 3lever mortice but no box to tick for that seemingly

Huge hike in renewal cost even though

Huge hike in renewal cost even though no change to policy or claims How insurance companies can justify this during a cost of living crisis lord only knows cue the list of excuses about how the industry has been under pressure

Misleading and Waste of time - Went through the full Quote process to findout that due to property address it is ineligible for a quote but still ended up receiving one that was not valid

Went through the full process for getting a quote Had a quote generated and was going to review and start the policy a few days after In the interim they pulled coverage for Northern Ireland did not inform me and when I want to start the insurance policy was told that Northern Ireland was no longer being covered As a test I went through the online quote process again expecting for this to flag at the address stage Nope I was able to go the whole way through the process and get to the quote screen where a quote figure was generated but in a small blue information bubble that wouldn t be clear unless you looked for it there was short statement saying that they would be unable to offer a policy quote due to the property location Fix this please - Flag ineligible properties at the address stage don t waste my time - Don t include a quote figure on the end screen if the address is ineligible - Make the warning or notice statement RED BOLD and in your face on the end screen so that it is very clear that homeprotect cannot offer a quote

Chose this company to insure our home

Chose this company to insure our home and contents after reading good reviews Sadly our experience isn t so good We have tried to claim for our lounge carpet after our granddaughter knocked over a cup of black coffee which has left a huge stain on a light grey carpet After contacting Home protect we have been told there is a 349 excess We attempted to access our docs via the emailed secure link and constantly got the msg sorry the link is no longer valid very frustrating we eventually managed to login and read the policy docs which states 250 voluntary excess What is going on here Yes the insurance is cheaper than most but poor access and confused excesses make this company a disappointment We have never had these kind of problems with other insurance companies so will look elsewhere for renewal

cancellation fee

So generally taking out the insurance was fairly straightforward as famiy home that was vacant due to loss of parent needed cover while on market for sale No claims in first twelve months and renewed automatically but property sold after first month of second year of cover Called to cancel policy costing 21 per month to be told that there was an 84 00 cancellation charge that would be deducted from debit card used to buy policy Yes its in the T Cs when checked so this review is just a warning if considering utilising their policy s if cover needed will need cancelling in short term Personnally I would not use again due to above as I think paying 4 months premium to cancel policy is excessive

I don t like the fact you have to talk

I don t like the fact you have to talk to a chat box rather than a human being However on this occasion the person i spoke to was very helpful and my time on the phone was simple and quick

Shambolic operation with many technical issues

I appreciate HomeProtect offer a service lots of home insurers will not However there have been some disappointing technical issues from start to finish that have left me overcharged and frustrated At the start their website wouldn t let me pay meaning I had to call and go through everything again My home sold quickly so I got in touch to cancel They were so slow to process this a direct debit was taken out after cancellation Trying to get this clarified or refunded has been a nightmare I asked for a breakdown of the final charges and the extra direct debit is completely unclear as to whether it s included in the final cancellation payment breakdown or not I got an e-mail with another unclear statement about this extra direct debit and asking me to call Their phone line now doesn t work so when I press the input for the department the recording ignores me and goes around in circles I discovered this because the e-mail was from an address you can t respond to The poor outsourced web-chat workers can t deal with complex requests and keep giving me the broken phone line to contact or requesting the finance team to re-send me something I already have I asked if someone can contact me - no outgoing calls from their office Their e-mails give a customer e-mail at the bottom it s the same e-mail you cannot contact and auto-responds to tell me it s not monitored Wish I d never bothered I ve lost half a day of work trying to chase this up

Poor Customer Service

Spent over a hour on with their live chat to add home insurance to my existing contents policy Was very poor customer service kept on having to click the I m still here button so chat wasn t disconnected as they were taking so long to reply to the chat Got to the end eventually to be told it would cost so much extra per month which was for contents cover only home insurance was excluded So extra per month for the contents insurance I already have and not adding the home insurance I contacted them to add Going elsewhere when insurance expires August
