Hokkaido land of marvel

We travelled mainly in Hokkaido for about 2 weeks We hired 2 cars as we were 11 people Accomodation was provided by the agency and we have no complain at all The people of my group were satisfied with the organization so I can warmly reccomand this agency Giordano Dall Armellina

Great agency with fluent English speaking staff

Very helpful professional English speaking travel agent They took time to explain in detail all sections of the trip from transfers to what was included and what was not from to hotel inclusions to tour dinner options They are very thoughtful and respond immediately Beware of payment if you are not Japanese Payment was a bit complicated As a foreign resident I cannot make bank transfers so I had to pay in cash Deadline came on a day when it was pouring rain

I have found Japan Travel incredibly helpful responsible flexible and cooperative My recent trip to Japan would have been somewhere between disastrous and impossible without them I made airplane and lodging reservations back in April for a complicated August visit by myself and five others arriving and leaving on various dates and visiting Hakone Tokyo Kyoto Kanazawa and Takayama I assumed that Japan would reopen to tourism by August but it was obvious at the beginning of July that only organized tour groups would be allowed I contacted Japan Travel and they agreed to convert my confused bookings and plans into a formal tour complete with a colorful 20-page brochure and full-time guides We worked together on the details and they submitted the tour to the Japan ERFS Entrants Returnees Follow-up System which approved the plans and issued certificates which we could then take to our respective Japanese consulates to get entry visas The responsiveness care and attention to detail by JT agent Kristy Bacle-an during this process was all that we could wish for and far more than I had expected We threw in a lot of changes and requirements Kabuki and baseball tickets hired cars adjusted schedules and Kristy fielded them all neatly and quickly On August 7 I got a PCR test in the San Francisco Airport and when I landed in Honolulu the report had come back negative On August 9 I flew from Honolulu to Narita AIrport and was met by our wonderful guide Ishiwata Reiko and by JT manager Colas Hauspie They deposited me in a hotel near the airport I had a stuffy nose that night and woke up with a fever of 38 1 I took an antigen test and it registered a clear positive At that moment four other members of the group were already over the Pacific and soon to land The timing was good in a way because I did not meet them at the airport and they were therefore not quarantined Reiko having met me was temporarily sidelined so JT provided another guide Yoshiko to meet them and take them to Hakone Since I had all the cash for the trip JT advanced to them 400 thousand yen in cash to go forward later adding another 300 thousand In my case the Government wanted proof that I had COViD so they could lock me up JT arranged for me to go to a clinic at Chiba station for a telemedicine appointment Then the authorities sent a car to transport me to the Chiba Prefecture Tomisato Temporary Medical Facility where I spent the next 8 days in solitary confinement in a converted airport hotel Meanwhile on the 15th my 5th guest arrived from Boston and joined the others for three nights in Tokyo and three nights in Kyoto They all were well cared for and had a great time It turned out to be extremely fortunate that we had been forced to employ JT guides It would have been very difficult if I had been quarantined without JT s assistance I exchanged 70 e-mails and about 30 phone calls with JT during this period They handled several special requirements and adjustments including last-minute booking of a separate room for a member of the group to prepare for and conduct an important job interview with an organization in Geneva On August 20th Yoshiko came and picked me up at the jailhouse door and took me to Tokyo Station where I met the rest of them for a quick lunch together on their way from Kyoto to Narita Airport Four of them returned to New York and I and the remaining guest went off with Reiko to Kanazawa Takayama and back to Tokyo I had had about 400 worth of tickets to attend Kabuki-za on the 16th but fortunately that performance was canceled because one of the actors got CoViD JT rebooked and we did get to go on the last day in Tokyo We got to walk in Kenroku-en ate kare raisu at Champion Curry rode the Shin-Hotaka Ropeway and ate elaborate breakfasts and dinners at a lovely Onsen in Takayama We also had dinner at Tempura-Ten-chi where I last ate in 1964 So I may not have quite the set of memories I hoped to acquire but I ended up with good stories to tell and a reason perhaps to return to Japan when the weather is better We made so many changes that the price had to be continuously adjusted JT s adjustments were all transparent and fair and limited to actual costs incurred I have nothing but praise for our experience with JT

Thank you for all of your expertise in organizing our two-month trip through Japan It worked beautifully and smoothly Experiencing a trip is for the traveler the tip of the iceberg I know well the massive office and back-of-the-house effort knowledge and commitment required to make a trip operate as smoothly and successfully as ours did You made it happen Your diligence and professionalism shined through in every aspect of our experience And the guides were outstanding all of them helpful knowledgeable and good company We realized from the minute we arrived that we needed Japanese-speaking guides because outside of Tokyo we found little English and few Westerners We will be forever grateful for Yasu Max and especially Masa for taking care of us especially with hopping on and off the Shinkansen and the rest of the transportation They helped us organize our days according to sites that we wanted to visit And they found excellent and unusual places for us to dine and not expensive We spoke to you often about our three years of planning for the trip of a lifetime That is exactly what you created and executed for us So it s a situation in which words are inadequate leading us to resort to saying it three times for emphasis and passion Thank you thank you thank you
