My partner and I had the BEST day climbing with Martin Due to last minute changes completely out of anyone s control he was quick to react and arranged an alternative and I think better venue for us to enjoy He was friendly supportive knowledgeable and we felt we were in a safe pair of hands Would definitely book again Thank you so much

We had a great weekend of climbing - Martin is very friendly patient and great at explaining gear placement and anchors As we progressed he quickly adapted the sessions and I felt very safe which made the whole experience really fun and enjoyable Would definitely recommend

We had a really great day on Portland with Martin and his Dad We were a mixed group of differing ambition and ability but Martin made sure everyone felt safe and yet also challenged The kids aged 15 13 10 all loved the experience and are keen to climb again Martin was punctual organised and fun to spend time with

A friend and I did a full day course with Martin at Fairy Cave quarry where we learnt the basics of leading trad We had a great day and he taught us how to building belays and confidently place gear We both led a route on top rope and he was on a fixed line next to us talking us through our gear placement and rated the quality of our gear It was a great day and helped build my confidence to start leading I would highly recommend going out climbing with Martin

Great instructor for a recent trad course we did 2 super enjoyable days with lots of tailored learning Martin was really considerate to our out of the ordinary request and overall a really personable guy Would 100 recommend

I recently did a days climbing with Martin at Portland with 2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 6 We had agreed prior to the day what we wanted to achieve which was to come away with the adults being able to confidently belay the children and for us all to have fun It was our first time rope climbing we all boulder regularly We had a great day Martin was great to spend the day with He spent time running through the various belay devices advantages and disadvantages of each one We then went through making sure we could harness the children safely as well attaching them to the belay rope We then climbed a number of routes over the day Martin always checked all of our work before we climbed or belayed He was great with the kids we all come away having enjoyed the days climbing and learnt a lot Martin supplied all the equipment we didn t have It was a great day we wouldn t hesitate in booking Martin again

I had got stuck with my outdoor sports leading Martin broke it down into logical steps to enable me to return to leading with confidence and more importantly enjoyment Martin is very calm relaxed knowledgeable and experienced He pitched his teaching tips perfectly demonstrating by doing and then encouraging my progress I have planned more sessions with him
