Works fine until you have a problem

I bought my own Modem and sent back optimums to safe 10 dollars I was told that they never received the modem and I lost my money I spend for the modem plus they kept charging me the 10 dollars extra

Being charged twice a month for two

Being charged twice a month for two addresses and one month 181 for nothing they try to say i didn t return the equipment after several times i spoke to service rep in chat no mention of it those times and my Sister called them twice and they told her i will get a refund for 4 months and i never received a penny They lied and cheated me out a lot of money They re very dishonest and gave me a run around with different service reps in chat All tell you something different This internet cable company should not be in this business at all I paid for my old and new address since March 2021 until around Sept October 2021 Two amounts it s in my bank statement so i got proof

I have had altice optimum fiber for 3

I have had altice optimum fiber for 3 weeks now The speed is great and the installer was awesome The problem is that I have lost service 3 times already for an hour each time and because the router is horrible my home network doesn t work if the internt goes out Which mean I can t control my home network lights and network drives The router is so poor and the features are horrible I probably switch back to Verizon it s worth the extra 11 00 a month The problem is there router And you can t buy a different one The router has 1 feature and that s only if u use there WiFi

Optimum Online Privacy Issue Resolved with help from Trust Pilot

Updated 4 9 2023 to put the Altice Exec Relation s person s correct name which is Katie not Kelly ----------A week ago I posted here on Trustpilot a review of Optimum Online and indicated that I had been unable to resolve an issue which apparently affected most business customers and or those with static IPs or IP ranges namely that Optimum was releasing the full names and addresses of said customers The initial complaint was deleted by Trustpilot for reasons which I am still unsure of but Trustpilot indicated it was likely due to a web address which I included for readers who wanted to research the issue further on the main WHOIS lookup site However the initial post isn t as relevant now as Optimum Cablevision has actually corrected the issue and my complaint has been for the most part addressed A few days after mailing to Optimum s or Altice s online review office I was contacted by a VERY nice lady at the Optimum Executive Office Katie who said she had researched the problem and found a way to correct it This was after months of being told there is nothing which can be done and then being given some instructions on how I may possibly resolve the issue instead of THEY fixing it - I do NOT work for them and why should I have to fix a problem which THEY caused and then when I tried to effectuate what they said nothing worked leaving me back where the issue started with no resolution in sight Accordingly I initially gave Optimum one star but I m putting in another one since even though the issue has been fixed the hours and days and weeks of dealing with them was really much more than most people would or should endure and it seems that only when one of Optimum s failings are made public and embarrasses them and or they feel there may be some exposure to liability then and only then do they take you seriously Nevertheless the issue was resolved and I thank Trustpilot and Katie at Altice Optimum for their help I just wish more of Optimum s representatives were like Katie as I m sure everyone s dealings with the company would improve by orders of magnitude if they were She was one of the first truly knowledgeable well-spoken and thoroughly helpful people whom I have ever spoken with there If this review were just about Katie I d give a HUNDRED stars but since it is about Altice Optimum I have only given two stars since there is a LOT of room for improvement in general as evidenced by what I had to go through in dealing with Optimum before posting on Trust Pilot

installer failed job

sent a man out to install tv and internet he left before he finished the job he was in a hurry to get to his next 4 jobs if you cant do the job right then youll have to do the job over again

Money Hungry

As far as our internet service goes we haven t had a problem in the 4 months we ve been with Optimum However they are crooks and sneaky with billing When we joined there was a promotion for free HBO MAX for 3 months Not only did it NOT mention that it would continue charging for HBO MAX after the 3 months a feature I did not request or ever use but they were charging me within the first 3 months a discounted price for it The bills are so generic and don t explain the charges well When I called to inquire the best they could do is credit me back 5 a month for the next year That means the only way to make it worth my while is by staying with them for a whole year They re crooks Check your bills closely

Closed account still had to pay for the whole month

We have had no choice of internet providers for the 15 years we have lived here Only Suddenlink now Optimum While the speed has been fair to good the customer service is nothing short of dishonest and straight up robbery Billing is a pay in advance of use system fair enough But when you cut off your service vacation lack of need etc you are still billed for the entire month even if you only have as in our case 8 days used on the current billing cycle I asked how a 125 00 bill would not be prorated as the service is immediately cut off What about the remaining unused 22 days They offered to discount my bill by 15 Yes 15 The cost if that 125 is divided by 30 days is a little over 4 per day Multiplied by those 22 unused days it should be about 90 Unbelievable This is NOT the first time they ve done this either and it s not right Thieves and rip off artists I will never choose Optimim again Instead I will choose a new internet provider since one is finally available I would have returned to Optimum had they not pulled this stunt It s unfair dishonest and just not right

Optimum is horrible u don t get very

Optimum is horrible u don t get very many programs unless u pay extra for everything other companies offer these programs in ur percription and it always freezes and it s just horrible don t get it

Problems

We have Optimum internet which is good However last Tuesday a young man came out to install cable tv That didn t work well at all He couldn t install tv in my husbands bedroom and our main tv in the family room is not getting cable A service tech was supposed to come to our house this morning but he went to the wrong house and now won t be back to our house until Tuesday and today is Sunday The guys that came out first left a big wiring mess inside and outside

Spotty In Out Internet

I realize they re doing upgrades in my area eastern NC but these upgrades have been going on for weeks We go a few days no issues then for days when the internet works for 5 minutes before conking again Why am I paying 167 month for high-speed internet I can t use
