I adopted a cat that had a PETLINK chip When I tried to change ownership for the account they claim I cannot establish ownership of the cat I have the cat and the chip After a year of on and off trying I am giving up If this is how they manage their office I can only imagine how they would locate a lost pet Find another service Just warning other potential purchasers Update After I complained I was told that if I paid 19 95 the chip could be transferred to me No thanks

SCAM

SCAM Updated Petlink requires a 20- 25 fee above the vet fee of 45 to implant Understand the chip is never registered not even to the Vet who implants without this additional 20 plus fee 45 and chip implant useless without it What a SCAM No wonder chips on lost pets show up empty This company should go out of business Update they contacted me But I registered free through 24petsmart AVOID petlink I don t care what they replied Two people from their company told me I had to pay I tried registering online which didn t go through and a third person on the phone told me it was because I didn t click forward to pay Except for this complaint they get away with it My Vet is annoyed and won t be using them going forward

I ordered some item on 11 30 2018 order PLN69900 while I know it could take up to 3 weeks to get the item I was not prepared for 2 months to go by with no notification no information on the status My banking account was charged and I still do not have the item and not even a shipping confirmation I feel this is blatantly stealing Would like a refund ASAP Not interested in the products anymore

A Lesson in Failed Customer Support

Don t purchase a slip-on small cat collar tag for a minimum width collar It will fall off and is too large to comfortably rest against a cat s neck But the worst part of this episode was the request for photos of the offending tag to prove that my assessment is factually correct and the less than stellar timeliness of email responses The final solution Bend the prongs of the tag together so it won t slip off Never mind this is a product that allegedly is intended to fit properly as long as the customer s collar width meets minimum specs I asked for a refund or credit toward another product that includes a collar tag combination that is functionally better Because customer satisfaction is not a Petlink priority that wasn t granted It seems that once the chip is implanted Petlink has a captive customer forget about anything that might need extra attention

Customer service is awful Placed an order for a tag that never arrived after 3 weeks Replacement order has been two weeks and not received Why wasn t the replacement order expedited Stop blaming YOUR vendor - that is YOUR issue Would never recommend this company

My lifetime membership was taken away

I have had Petlink for one of my dogs for over 8 years lifetime and no issues I rescued another dog and was given the first year free from the rescue Yesterday I paid to upgrade for the lifetime membership at 19 95 and saw there was a promotion on my account to upgrade to a lifetime membership for 24 95 with several gifts for doing so There was even an upgrade button to click on When I contacted customer service they told me this is just a survey and not really what was described I asked to be refunded for the 19 95 since it was misleading and not to renew this dog s membership They deleted my account TOTALLY for both dogs The dog I had a lifetime membership for over 8 years is totally gone and I am not recognized in their system at all So the dog I did not renew is not in the data base nor the one that I paid a lifetime membership for so basically they took my money and lifetime membership away and not sure how they can do that Customer service has yet to rectify this which is so disappointing I was actually hung up on today while trying to reach someone in management It has been a time consuming and frustrating experience to say the least and lacking in customer support I will update this review when and if I hear back from Petlink

Petlink will not verify my information I spent so much time trying to join unsure if I did something incorrectly I sent several emails with no answer from them at all No customer service so I was amused to see on here they can actually type an answer to a problem about a registration

Use Any Option Except PetLink

I ve used Home Again microchipping for every dog I ve ever owned Recently I adopted a dog with a PetLink chip that had been left at a shelter without papers or information about the previous owner None of the documentation for transferring ownership on the website will work I wrote PetLink and they talked to me as though I can t read the website I told them I will never microchip a dog again but after talking to Home Again I will simply use them Home Again cares enough about dogs to work with people who take them in I would remove the microchip from the dog I adopted but it s a surgical procedure requiring anesthesia WHAT A TERRIBLE COMPANY PETLINK IS They have no interest in working with people in unusual circumstances
