"Got a quote on-line"

Got a quote on-line Web site said issues with payment page contact office Rang office and spoke to a person as we were speaking a confirmation email arrived in my inbox confirming 39 month for my dog Told the person my reference number quoted Don t worry Sir I will sort that I see your monthly payment is 42 99 No I replied it s 39 Sorry Sir your quote is only valid at time of issue So a live quote came in while on the phone in the 2seconds it took to punch in my written reference number it went up 48 a year I reran the same quote while he was on the phone 45 99 a month I asked to speak to a line manager and was told he would call later -never happened Would like a call back to discuss what seems to be a random number generator

"Ridiculous amount of time taken to pay claims"

The company are very easy to set up insurance with but unfortunately a complete nightmare if you need to claim I am awaiting the third claim I have made on my policies I have multiple pets and once again I am waiting well over the guide time of 28 days I have emailed but had no response as usual I receive constant text messages telling me they are working on it but this doesn t make up for nothing actually happening I ve had pet insurance for many years with lots of different companies and this is the only one that takes months to pay out for claims I certainly won t be renewing with them

"My labradoodle Stella took sick the "

My labradoodle Stella took sick the 21 2 24 I took her to the vets were I was told both sides of her face was infected and it was really bad First payment was over 200 pounds I contacted purely pets to start a claim that night The vet told me it was gonna be really expensive to control this infection and to contact Stella s insurance I made the claim on above date Purely pets have kept me updated on the claim is being processed But now we re possibly nearly 2 months in since the claim was made and after a few more visits to the vets my claim has still not been sorted I don t think this I a very good service at all and it s ended up not that expensive I feel let down by this very poor service from purely pets

"Pay out for claims is unacceptably slow"

Pay out for claims is very slow I submitted a claim over six weeks ago which hasn t been paid and a second one four weeks ago which also hasn t been paid yet - I ve had numerous text messages assuring me that the claims are being dealt with but there s been no progress on either As the claims in question relate to vets bills from before Christmas and in January this is particularly irritating The timescales quoted above are from when PP said the claims were ready to process Yes you can check the online portal but it s always the same - nothing happening By comparison friends who have pet insurance elsewhere are having claims settled within days

"Pretty rubbish tbh"

Pretty rubbish tbh Easy enough to set up but still waiting for reimbursement 7 weeks later Vet is now chasing us for payment as they haven t been paid by Purely Pets Considering we are paying a fair amount for 3 giant breed dogs this is pretty shoddy treatment

"Awful turnaround time for claim review"

Whilst the sign up process is a breeze and the online claim portal easy to use The turnaround time for claims seems to be notoriously dreadful My dog passed after a short illness after Purely Pets took receipt of the documents required to process the claim I ve been assured at every contact that the claims process can take up to 4 weeks it s even outlined in their recordings when you contact them via telephone I have maintained periodic contact to progress chase and the goal post has moved each and every time by another 5 working days a week or so as outlined by the advisor I am now just past the 25 working day mark and lo and behold I am now told to wait another 5 working days

"Pet insurance"

Always very easy to sign up for an insurance policy and put the claim in on line however when you make a claim it can take months to pay out and you don t hear anything for ages In the last 6 months they have started texting every week to tell you they are working on your claim probably because customers complained how long they take but it still takes months When you cancel the policy they want money off you within 10 days if they have paid out a claim in that year Would definitely not recommend or use again Save you money each month independently to pay for vets bills because by the time they take the excess off and the percentage you have to pay towards the costs it is not worth it

"negative experience"

I have been with PV 12 months almost I had to make a claim twice in that time unfortunately Each time I paid the vet in full 2 to 3 thousand pounds in all The weighting time to have monies reimbursed is over a month at least I find the the customer service team is more like an interrogation Leaving you in doubt whether or you qualify for a claim yourself knowing that you would qualify No renewal for me NB I have responded to the reply they have submitted to my review below Still nothing has happened Animal friends next time

"Premium gone up by 400 in one year"

Purely Pets have just put my premium up by 400 this year I have given two stars because they pay out on claims without much issue however they certainly try to claw any money paid out back on the policy premiums I feel like I am stuck with them now because my dog has had some medical issues that wouldn t be covered with a new policy I wouldn t recommend and I certainly would not use them again with a different pet As for the response to call purely pets customer service to discuss I have already done this and the answer although a bit more polite was tough - if you have made a claim then your premium will increase

"The real test of an insurance co is how it deals with claims"

The policy is cheap and easy to put in place but of course the true test of an insurance company is how they deal with claims This has not been a good experience on either of my 2 claims so far they are reluctant to pay out and take at least 4 weeks to do so - meaning that policy holder has to cover the invariably hefty vet bill in the meantime I ve never experienced this battle to get payment for something which is clearly covered by the policy with other insurance companies I guess you get what you pay for but if you can t afford to pay vet bills and wait some time for the insured funds to come back - beware
