AI Review Summary Based on 13 reviews

Overall customer experience for Toureiffel is highly polarized, with many visitors expressing severe dissatisfaction while a minority report positive experiences. Service quality is frequently criticized as poor, with reports of rude and aggressive security staff and unhelpful customer service. The online booking system is described as misleading and prone to errors, often resulting in failed transactions despite payment confirmations. Delivery of the promised experience is problematic, with long queues persisting even for those with pre-booked tickets, and access times not being honored. The returns or resolution policy appears inadequate, as customers report being unable to get reasonable solutions for booking issues or denied access. Product quality, referring to the visit itself, is marred by extreme crowding, making it difficult to enjoy the views. The surrounding environment is negatively highlighted, with mentions of aggressive street vendors and perceived organized crime. However, some customers who successfully navigated the process praise the iconic views and find the experience worthwhile. Satisfaction is heavily dependent on advance planning and managing expectations for long waits and physical exertion. Ultimately, the attraction is labeled a tourist trap by many, though its visual appeal is acknowledged.

Find something else to do in Paris - avoid this tourist trap

Find something else to do in Paris that doesn t involve handing over your money to these crooks When you buy a ticket for a specific date time DON T believe that you ll actually be granted access to the tower at approximately the time you reserved - you ll be granted access to the waiting area under the tower - it ll possibly take FAR longer before you re allowed in on the tower itself On the day of our visit we had tickets to visit at 14 00 We arrived 20 mins early at their suggestion to allow time for security Once inside security but still on the ground under the tower we found a sign for 14 00 session so got in the line there At about 14 10 an official came and moved our line to end of another very long line From this new line we could see signs saying that our wait time to enter the tower was another 1 hour - given the length of the line and the speed at which it was moving I d say that was an optimistic estimate It was awfully hot July to be waiting on black asphalt for an extra 1 5 hours - or more - past our reserved time We had other activities planned for later in the day with timed entries - activities that couldn t tolerate an unexpected 1 5h wait - so we left without actually entering the tower Of all of the timed entry tickets that we had for various Paris attractions all granted us entry to the attraction at the reserved time EXCEPT for the Eiffel Tower ticket The reason for the extra waiting is apparent - the greedy folks who run the Eiffel Tower are selling tickets as fast as they can When you arrive with your timed reservation ticket you ll go thru security using a line for people who already have tickets But you ll also see another much longer line where they are selling tickets for people who don t already have them The result is that the area inside of security is thronged with people - more people than the tower can accommodate - the Eiffel Tower people have your money so it s tough luck for you - you can wait and extra hour or two What was the point of having a reserved entry time if they can t honor it I asked them via email for a refund they refuse

Dreadful Agressive security staff

Dreadful I had tickets to visit the monument with my 4y old son On site I was denied access by extra rude security staff because of my son s 3 wheel scooter even when I offered to fold it and put in a bag There is no reference to kids scooters in the list of unauthorised items which I tried to argue in vain At the same time one of the security members told me the ice cream lady next door can keep it for 10 I had no choice I didn t want to loose our expensive tickets I paid and left the scooter to the ice cream lady which seems to be a well organised racket and came back to the queue with my 4y old totally distressed I tried to ask some sort of proof which they obviously didn t have they kept saying we have instructions At some point one of them pointed to the picture of rollers saying here it is wheels it s the same thing when I tried to explain it s not quite the same thing the situation went out of control The main security guard started threatening me you stop busting my b in French I was so shocked I took my phone out to record the scene but only managed a picture before his female colleague snatched it from my hands and deleted the picture and threatened to deny me and my son access all this in front of the long queue of people and my 4y old in tears The man continued shouting at me in an extremely agressive manner Once inside the site I asked to see a manager who was very professional and helpful He confirmed there is no restrictions for kids scooters and offered to leave it next to the pushchairs The security team outside are contractors and independent of the main site staff Shocking disgusting pityfull ruined my day and my experience of Paris

Who is in charge around the Eiffel tower

Different organized crime gangs around the Eiffel Tower which are not tolerated by the police elsewhere in the city The police is obviously not the one in charge It looks like they have deals or agreements Fake fundraising and pickpocket happens openly Aggressive street vendors as well But ball Cup game and bracelet scam are harder to spot I noticed the group responsible for that but they did not play it There are as many scammers as toutists It really is a minefield Much different from other tourist attractions in Paris Eiffel tower almost seems pickpocket and scam paradise

I recently visited the Eiffel Tower and

I recently visited the Eiffel Tower and was quite disappointed with the experience The lines were incredibly long and the wait time was much longer than expected Once we finally made it to the top it was extremely crowded making it difficult to enjoy the view The prices for tickets and refreshments were exorbitant and the overall atmosphere felt very commercialized and lacking in charm Additionally the area around the tower was swarming with aggressive vendors which detracted from the experience Overall the visit did not live up to the hype and was more stressful than enjoyable I would recommend finding other less crowded spots in Paris to appreciate the city s beauty

Poor online booking experience

I pre-purchased a ticket online and although the payment was confirmed immediately I received an email the next day stating that my order hadn t gone through By the time I attempted to rebook the event was sold out Instead of providing a reasonable solution like manually adding me to the booking as a gesture of goodwill they simply suggested I line up and hope for the best The lack of proactive customer service was disappointing especially given that the error was on their end

Website is misleading and terrible

Website is misleading and terrible customer service Website advises to pre purchase a ticket but the elevator was sold out so it advises to but stairs and then get elevator tickets on arrival but they charge it double tried to speak to customer service but the lack customer resolution and basically just overcharge people To avoid ruining the experience I had to purchase new tickets as it was impossible to take the stairs up two floors with a three year old Shame the Frances most famous monument sin the hands of useless money grabbing people lacking customer service and customer resolution

An Unpopular Opinion The Eiffel Tower - A Visual Masterpiece A Tourist Trap

An Unpopular Opinion The Eiffel Tower - A Visual Masterpiece A Tourist TrapDear Reader I feel compelled to share a perspective that might be considered controversial especially for those planning a trip to the romantic city of Paris While the Eiffel Tower undeniably stands as an iconic symbol and a magnificent feat of architectural engineering a truly breathtaking structure to behold from a distance I must vehemently argue against the pervasive hype surrounding the experience of actually visiting and entering it In my honest opinion making this a prime attraction to dedicate your precious travel time and hard-earned money to is not just overrated it s an utterly unnecessary endeavor The entire process of gaining access is a testament to its over-commercialization The Eiffel Tower notoriously overbooks its reservations whether you re aiming for the first floor the second or the highly coveted summit This leads to frustratingly long queues crowded spaces and a general sense of being herded rather than experiencing a world-renowned landmark And then there s the journey itself ascending in the lifts It s truly baffling to witness grown adults seemingly having never encountered an elevator before incessantly videoing their ascent as if it were some groundbreaking technological marvel This detracts from any potential sense of wonder and transforms what should be a unique experience into a mundane albeit claustrophobic ride Frankly this magnificent iron lady should be left to serve its true purpose an exquisite visual trinket for the city of Paris Its beauty is best absorbed from afar from the comfort of a charming Parisian apartment a cozy hotel room with a view or a leisurely stroll through a nearby park From these vantage points its grandeur and intricate design truly shine untainted by the commercial chaos within Anyone who succumbs to the pressure or gets suckered into purchasing tickets to go inside is regrettably just burning their money I cannot stress this enough the internal experience of the Eiffel Tower is simply not worth the financial outlay Consider for a moment what constitutes a truly worthwhile tourist attraction a place where your money genuinely buys you an enriching memorable experience Think of the awe-inspiring Giza Pyramids in Egypt steeped in millennia of history and mystery Or the sprawling meticulously curated Kew Gardens in London a botanical wonderland Imagine the sheer historical weight of monuments like the legendary Statue of Zeus in ancient Greece Even a simple hike to the iconic Hollywood sign offers a unique perspective and a sense of accomplishment Then there are the cultural powerhouses any Madame Tussauds museum offers interactive fun the vast collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York the British Museum in London or the Academy of Motion Picture Art Museum in Los Angeles provide unparalleled educational and artistic immersion These are places designed for discovery for learning for genuine engagement and for spending your hard-earned money wisely The Eiffel Tower on the other hand falls woefully short in comparison And regarding its funding If the Eiffel Tower requires financial support perhaps Gustave Eiffel s relatives could sponsor their ancestor s iconic idea Or like any other entrepreneurial venture it could seek out investors or corporate sponsors Relying on overpriced underwhelming tourist experiences to sustain it feels less like preservation and more like a calculated scam In conclusion admire the Eiffel Tower photograph it let it be the picturesque backdrop to your Parisian dreams But please resist the urge to go inside Your wallet your sanity and your overall travel experience will thank you
