THINK TWICE AND DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE HAVING THIS VET DO AN OP ON your animal They ruined the end of our dog s life and robbed 10k from us during the holidays We dropped our still mobile dog Oscar off at blue pearl and he came out paralyzed He was never able to walk again until we were forced to put him to sleep Blue Pearl is a surgery mill The purpose of this company is to exploit people s love for their pets for money They are a national company whose parent company also owns Banfield Pet Hospital Blue Pearl has 1 of 5 stars and a D- Better Business Bureau rating I found numerous lawsuits against Blue Pearl Nationwide We took our pup Oscar to Blue Pearl in Maitland FL to be examined by Dr Stark the neurologist The receptionist said she did not need his shot records because if you can afford to come here we know you take care of your pet We informed Dr Stark that Oscar had started to drag one of his back legs and recently started having choppy front steps After telling us that IVDD surgery would fix our pup and that it had 95 success rate we decided to proceed with the 10k surgery This was a lie it is more like 40 success rate when you do more research After doing a very expensive MRI Dr Stark said that she found the source of Oscars disk problem and that we should definitely proceed with the surgery After 10k in bills we picked up Oscar shocked to find that he could not walk AT ALL He was paralyzed in a lot of pain and traumatized They said that this was perfectly normal They had failed to mention that we would need to spend 3k more to do physical therapy We got a physical therapist right away A week later we took Oscar to his follow-up with Dr Stark She told us we may need to take our seats And then with almost a smug smile on her face said Well it looks like your dog got another injury since his surgery Because his back legs were fine before Unless you have 10k more to spend on another surgery It looks like euthanasia is the next option You can imagine our shock as we were gaslit If you care about your pup do not let Dr Stark get her hands on him The doctor could not say when or how the 2nd herniated disc occurred because they only examined and x-rayed his neck area and never looked at his entire spine We deeply regret that we had just given our dog steroids so that he could have had a happier end to his life When a large corporation dictates pet care and the doctors practice medicine by checking a box and following a procedure manual the human element is removed from care I am disgusted that this company exploits people s love for their pets to make a profit I feel horrible for putting my precious dog through a traumatic surgical procedure at 13-years old When we informed the doctor that we would not be giving Blue Pearl anymore of our money they handed us some steroids and pain meds and we never heard from them again No follow up call or inquiry about his condition They are cold and ruthless when the revenue source has run out Oscar was a beloved family member who deserved compassionate care that he did not receive at Blue Pearl

"I took my foster dog Rocky down there "

I took my foster dog Rocky down there to blue pearl in Pgh Pa on Camp Horne Rd to the er because Rocky was having some neurological issues going on After talking with Dr Joey Callum female she was telling me how Rocky is not doing well and that the costs of getting him treated and possibly living a good life was slim to none and she immediately said that he needed to be put down PVSEC blue pearl is a money making racket or a place who always wants to immediately put an animal down I had another dog that I took there and they said the same thing about her a year prior well she lived another year or more and she was strong and had no issues they are always quick to want to kill an animal Back to Rocky upon speaking with Dr Joey Callum callus is more like it and should be her last name she is very cold hearted and when she came in the room I asked if I could speak with her in private she says you don t want to speak in front of your husband about Rocky I said no I don t want to speak in front of Rocky about Rocky she says you don t want to speak about this in front of the dog like he is not important they understand what is going on animals are not dumb he is important to us and I said no I don t so we went in another room I had asked her about Rocky s condition and she was telling me again about what is happening with him and then in her next breath she says I bet you will never do this again meaning foster another dog she knows at that moment I am vulnerable because of what is happening with Rocky she is very heartless and her lack of compassion for the families of these pets they are supposed to take care of shows very much how much she doesn t care for the animals PVSEC is a very heartless place to deal with They have no compassion for people and their pets based on the two experiences I have had with them Dr Joey Callum could have been a little more compassionate knowing I am in tears over Rocky This was so sudden and unexpected for Rocky to get sick that we did not expect him to have to be put down I could not believe that she had the nerve to say to me I bet you will never foster again What a mean thing to say here I am just trying to save an animal from being put down because that is what would have happened to him if I would not have gotten him from the place 6 months ago How can a Dr who works around animals all the time be this disrespectful to the families of fosters and adoptive animals If you feel you have to go to this place in the er and they say Dr Joey Callum is seeing your dog or any pet ask for someone else although the way PVSEC is any dr is immediately wanting to put an animal down I wish there was an option to give zero stars because this place doesn t even deserve one star

"Here s their formula for up-charging you to maximize profits"

As a doctor I quickly recognized their unethical billing practices Here s how they will get you They give you a statement of line items that could be charged on the left column is the low estimate of charges and a total on the right column is the high estimate of charges with total They tell you your charges will not go above the high estimate but will likely be in between estimates Here s the scam If you don t use all the services listed in the high column they simply adjust the itemized charges up to get it closer to the maximum amount Most will not notice the difference in itemized charges as they just look at the total If they do notice as I did they dismiss the fact that the charges were manipulated up by saying yes but your total is still less than the maximum we initially agreed on I guess we are supposed to be ok with this No its taking advantage of people many who cannot afford 5k in diagnostics alone I asked them if the charges would have been manipulated up if I had received all the services in the high column knowing they would not have because it would have then totaled more than the high estimate guaranteed Crickets I was told someone in billing would get back to me So far crickets It s a shame companies like this choose to manipulate you knowing you ll do anything for your pet including getting scammed

They killed my dog then instead of taking responsibility tried to blame it on him I will never stop telling people what a horrible place BluePearl is ESPECIALLY their internal medicine department Their attitude was He s just a dog That was said directly to my face I have no monetary recourse or I would have sued their internal medicine specialist a long long time ago So take all of this how you will but I urge you to not risk your baby s life with these incredibly callous people Thank you for your time

"Blue Pearl is predatory and criminal"

Blue Pearl has replaced predatory payday lenders providers as some of the biggest criminals in the country Blue Pearl WILL - Be rude to you immediately- charge predatory rates that are AT LEAST 5X human medical procedures and completely ignore standard medical protocols to sell you services you don t need We had two double board physicians listening on our call And the vet who was telling us we ll need at least 10k after failing to use any standard medical process and procedure to get there Ie the Vets lied to sell more - treat you like garbage for being shocked at prices that are at least 5X TIMES the cost for humans Ex MRI 5000 For a human that s 500-650 and you don t have to wait two weeks for results AND you don t have to tolerate vet employees mocking you for struggling to pay for the cost to get your pet help - make you sign a Doc saying you won t complain about prices- you will get a bad diagnosis that will be modified corrected when you take your pet to real Vets If we d have listened to these criminals we d have put our dog down Fortunately thanks to a couple of Vets who actually love animals more than overcharging pet owners and the UGA Vet school our Rhodesian Ridgeback will live out the rest of his days after irradiating bone cancer in his skull that Peachtree Hills and Blue Pearl have been asked about and ignored our asks for a full year and missed Blue Pearl is owned by an investment firm and they are operated as a cash cow that prays upon pet owners Hence the predatory pricing The vet business is as out of control as the predatory lenders of past decades And they need to be put down and out out of business for animal abuse and pet owners abuse These are not good people at all They do treat you and your pet horribly all they care about is that dollar Thank you to Tractor Supply in Kennesaw for recommendations for Vets outside the Atl suburban area Those Vets even mocked Blue Pearl and our now former vet Peachtree Hills Vets in Buckhead also predatory and vile Go 20 minutes outside Atl for real Vets who ll be honest try everything that costs nothing before jumping to the Big dollar bills and diagnosis The country Vets and the UGA Vet school contradicted Blue Pearl Had we listened to Peachtree Hills and Blue Pearl we d have our dog down Thanks to the real Vets he will live out his remaining years peacefully and healthy Blue pearl and Peachtree Hills would have had us ki our dog for cash

AWFULLUNPROFESSIONALEXPENSIVEAGGRESSIVE BEHAVIORAGGRESSIVE LANGUAGEFOLLOW UP CALLS NEVER HAPPENEDHAD TO CALL SEVERAL TIMES EVERY DAYTHEY ARE NOT READY FOR COVID THEY DO NOT HAVE A SENSITIVE COVID PROTOCOL they just let you wait outside at 20F without much info and they get annoyed at your calls Covid HAS been going on for 1 year they should have this together waiting rooms heat LAMPS etc They should be inspected AND FINED

It s a joke Went to BP in Delaware After waiting 4 h and not seeing a vmd plus never told at onset we would be there this many hrs and more No explanation except there s now only 1 VMD and they need to chart discharge see ICU pets before our emergency Which was truly an EMERGENCY Practice Admin did nothing but apologize We left and we re seen at Ryan Hospital which is part of Univ Of Penn Great ER Blue Pearl should learn to be a true ER

"NEVER GO HERE "

So DO NOT ever trust Blue Pearl emergency vet care My 2 1 2 yr old GSD came down with bloat last night about 7 Almost every vet in the area refers you to these clowns I called and they informed me they were closing at 10 and taking no new animals I ended up in Columbia at CVet wonderful very professional people They took him immediately into surgery and he is recovering Bloat is a life threatening issue and every handler breeder I talked to today said they had never heard of a emergency vet turning away a bloated animal Indeed CVet said my dog went immediately to the head of the list when they determined it was bloat A word to the wise is sufficient

"BluePearl will tell you your dog needs meds tos yay alive and then gouge you over 300 of the normal cost of the meds"

BluePearl diagnosed my dog with end stage mitrial valve disease They quoted a price for life saving drugs for my dog over 300 normal value to carry me over for five days until I could buy the prescriptions online Online I could buy a months supply for the price BluePearl demanded When I dared to question the price gouging the tech said Sir I don t make the prices the Dr will see you soon as she closed the door in my face The Dr never came I paid 400 for a consultation with a cardiologist and I never spoke to the cardiologist His report was relayed to me by the same person that closed the door in my face Bring your beloved family member pet to BluePearl but just know they ll gouge you at least 300 the normal cost with the threat that if you don t pay your beloved family member pet could die Oh and bring a tent and plenty of provisions You ll be camping there for a long time This was the absolute worst experience I ve ever had with a vet specialized or otherwise It s like a capitalistic trauma center where they just focus on profit Like how much can they make you pay to save your dog BluePearl s focus is their bottom line not your beloved family member Just know that going in
