"Fed up with rescues "

Petfinder and other rescue sites ask for ridiculous information to adopt a dog do they think people willing to mistreat a pet would pay 450 They called my vet of 28 years and commented how my dog is not up on his vaccines He is he does not get unnecessary boosters every year The last straw was asking if I was divorced or single and could I prove that I owned my home I have found a puppy probably not from a great source who needs a home also probably the same place they get theirs before they clean them up and charge 450 In the end these rescues are making the perfect the enemy of the good and the animals still suffer

"Not responsive - Unfair to the animals"

I was am very interested in adopting an older bird Petfinder put time restraints on when they can evaluate and how many applications they process a month which I think is the first 3-5 applications There was a November 2023 to January 15 2024 wait before they would even look at your initial application It is 1-27-24 and I still did not receive a response from them I am looking to adopt an older bird which clearly shows I am not a breeder or trying to resell a bird but a person who just wants to give a bird a good home I do not believe this is fair to people who surrender their birds to them only to have them hoarded and not be given a forever home

"Petfinder is a waste of time"

Petfinder is a waste of time No responses from shelters after taking the time to apply to each one individually Plus the shelters don t keep their information updated on a regular basis You find an ideal pet only to find that they ve already been adopted Unfortunately I will be shelling out cash to a breeder who is available to answer my questions and can confirm that the cat or kitten is still available I can also choose a cat that is less likely to be purchased because it is retired or unsuitable to breed

"Pet Adoption"

After filling out the applications submitted so many inquiries on pets and sent so many emails I still receive no response I have found matches on the website send inquiries to try to adopt the dog s and never hear back from ANYONE Petfinder is nothing but Scam It s just a waste of time thinking anyone will reply to your inquiries It is extremely frustrating It s probably best to just go to a local shelter

"I think i just got scammed"

I think i just got scammed I did the interview giving out all kinds of personal information in hopes of adopting and you dont get any returned calls or emails Worst of all it was an interview to a blocked phone number YIKES I should know better but I really wanted this dog If I dont hear anything today I will file a police report Dog was located in Oakville and it turns out their address is a post office box at a store Dogs name is Lincoln

"Are you worthy to own a Pet not according to Pet Finder"

The service has you deal with people who make you fill out a mortgage application of insulting questions to determine your worth The ridiculous process involved in even getting a response then learning you were denied because you work is ridiculous This isn t a service it s a joke Save yourself the torment of dealing with this garbage and go to a local shelter

Have shown interest and sent an inquiry on four different dogs and have not heard back on any until weeks later when the animal shelter sends an email stating the dog has been adopted Petfinder is a joke Don t trust them to send your inquiry to anyone

"This site is a scam"

This site is a scam You can send all the inquiries you want when you see an animal you wish to adopt Not only is it questionable if they they convey your interest to the adopting agency they never respond to your inquiries However the agencies they work with aren t shy to ask for hundreds if not thousands of dollars to adopt one of their supposedly vulnerable animals But when and if they ever get back to you the pet you are interested in has been miraculously already adopted even if they have been available for months This site is a joke as all they do is spam you and never answer you back Beware
