Worst bank ever No customer service Banking apps don t work They have funds I cannot access ss they returned them to the wrong account now they have been lost for 2 month and counting If Deutsche bank had not sold their portugal banks to ABANCA I would not be with them C as my move as they bought my mortgage Avoid

Awful bank I have been fighting with them via email to get my money released since December They are now just ignoring me Never known such a corrupt bank in my life It s been 4 months and they are still withholding over 4 000 00 of my money and have the cheek to continue to ask for more Giving reasons such as tax and commission Disgraceful bank

Appalling Service
I have been a customer of ABANCA just because they bought Deutsche Bank in Portugal 3-4 years ago and have witnessed the appalling downard spiral of the service quality Simple things like setting up a fixed term bond in USD GBP or EUR became a time consuming and cumbersome task for the customer Changing branches to a closer one to your home is virtually impossible After numerous phone calls and getting ping-ponged between the two branches and the call centre I ended up giving up Customer services is inexistant and you have no one to complain to Definitely do not recommend to anyone expecting decent service

Shady excuse for a bank
This bank is really appalling and whilst banks in Spain are generally bad this one takes the biscuit This bank has clearly been able to stay in business despite really poor service by misadvising customers often Galician emigrants living abroad who are not always very financially savvy into taking up poor performing products that only benefit the bank -- on handling my late father s estate I was shocked to see the kinds of things Abanca s formerly Caixa Galicia slimy grovelling travelling reps had talked him into putting his money into over the years e g no interest paying sterling accounts with maintenance fees when interest rates are well over 5 or talked into investing in fixed income bonds without describing the potential for loss The whole transfer of my father s assets from this joke of a bank took over a year -- obviously there were legal and tax issues that had to be resolved but way to many things were impossible to see through without going into a specific branch not easy when you re overseas or speaking to a specific advisor who was often on holiday Closure of an account and the transfer of funds to the UK which had to be done at the London branch for one particular account should have taken 3-5 working days but ended up taking two weeks because of two holiday days over Christmas --- they still charge a ridiculous commission though

Having been a part of Abanca s stay away
Having been a part of Abanca s acquisition of Deutsche Bank in Portugal I have first hand experience of the downward spiral of customer service since the acquisition Even the simplest request such as termination of a card is impossible and receiving a mortgage proposal as an existing customer was met with silence something that competitors such as Millennium and Santander were able to provide although I wasn t even an existing customer with those banks My recommendation is to simply stay away from this bank

300eur in theory -346 finally
I opened an account because of the 300eur that they give you if you get your salary through this bank It turns out that I was in the job for just one month which meant that I had to pay them 347eur to be able to close my account It was not only surprising for me but also I felt cheated as when I went to the bank in Barcelona a month later than when I opened it they didn t inform me about this and a few months later I got the surprise I don t recommend to open an account with them at least you are sure that you are going to get a monthly salary for at least 24 months
