The community at Academic English Now is really nice and the course go straight to the point which I love the biggest value for me was having the insightful comments from the team of reviewers it was nice having that one-on-one support of having a second pair of eyes on my article drafts and learning how to perfect Journal publishing in a practical way I totally recommend academic English for anyone who wants to save time speed up their progress and learn in a practical way

I am excited to share that my writing is going very well with 5 papers under review including two in a Q1 journal I recently received positive feedback from the reviewers for one of these articles at the Q1 journal This past week I presented my first PhD paper at the 51st Surgical Research Society of Southern Africa SRS SA meeting and won the prize for the best research I will present this research at the SRS UK meeting in Cambridge in January 2025 Thank you for your continued support

My PhD journey with Academic English Now

Talofa lava I am a PhD candidate in the final stages of my PhD I am studying Pacific labour migration in a sports context I stumbled upon AEN towards the end of 2023 and at the time was struggling to piece together my thesis Since I joined my experience with Academic English Now AEN has been nothing short of amazing It has been my relationship with my academic review Latanya that has been the game changer for me She is highly experienced and thoughtful and uses all of the AEN resources available at the right time I cannot recommend AEN and Latanya highly enough for their insights and they have made my PhD journey so much less daunting Thank you to Marek Latanya and the AEN team

Excellent experience

I am a PhD student and I have joined the program two years before It was a lifesaving for me as I had problems organising my thesis I benefit from the material in the course and from the valuable feedback from my lovely coach Margarita She helped me draw a map to finish my thesis and her feedback helped me a lot to improve my writing scientifically My supervisors also noticed a big change in my writing and progress after joining the program I highly recommend it it kept me motivated to work because of the endless support and help

It is a late review I joined in 2021 and finished my PhD dissertation in 2022 Due to COVID-19 I received my degree from the Philippines in 2023 I have more great news later In 2024 I received my offer as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the U S and am publishing my PhD dissertation as a book - I am thankful for all the support from Academic English Now I feel more confident after joining the program and learning from Marek s course videos The course is excellent very organized and advanced Going to the coaching videos and connecting with other scholars is also wonderful

I was totally lost in my PhD journey

I was totally lost in my PhD journey I m so grateful for their support I had just passed my qualifying exam and I was struggling with putting together my dissertation proposal This program provided the very needed structured support that helped me to make progress The videos on How to write for academic research are AMAZING Yes I took a course in grad school on how to write but it was not as detailed or structured as this material The ongoing feedback and support from live coaches really helped me to keep up the habit of writing even when my advisor was too busy I never felt like I was stuck waiting and waiting for feedback I also like the weekly opportunities to talk through my thought process with other PhD scholars who are not experts in my field I was really struggling to be clear in my writing and the support from this group made all the difference Now I m focused on finishing the dissertation presenting at conferences and attending invited keynotes using the skills from this program

How AEN s writing program helped me finish my PhD

I joined AEN at the end of 2021 and at that time I was lost in my thesis writing The results were ready but I could not start writing since I was thinking I am a bad writer This program provided the needed writing support that helped me start and finish my thesis I struggled to be clear in my writing and the coaches support made all the difference Although I took a course in grad school on how to write it was not detailed or structured This program is very structured and covers the PhD journey from the start to the end like finding your research gap to preparing for your PhD defense It is a 6-week program with 5-6 lectures each week giving you all the support you need during your PhD Also the ongoing feedback and support from live coaches thanks to Marek and Lynn helped me keep up the writing habit even when my advisor was too busy I have finished writing my thesis a research article and a review article I definitely recommend the program since it is a PhD saver
