Flight was delayed by 12 hours due to technical difficulties Coming back from Mauritius flight turned around
My Fiance and I booked a return flight from Johannesburg to Mauritius with Air Austral Just as everyone was getting ready to board we were told that the plane is experiencing technical difficulties and a part needs to be replaced We were told to wait for an hour for an update After waiting for an hour and a half we were told that the flight has been cancelled and we will only be leaving to Mauritius the next morning Luckily the flight the next morning was with Air Mauritius On our return from Mauritius we flew with Air Austral again After flying for an hour and a half the pilot announces in mid-air that they are turning the plane around as the plane was experiencing technical difficulties IN MID AIR We landed 2 and a half hours later as the plane has to release fuel Overall flying with Air Austral has been a NIGHTMARE From missing a day in Mauritius to almost not making it home due to Air Austral s negligence of maintaining their planes this has been the worst experience of our lives We did not receive any communication from them afterwards and expect some sort of apology The experience has been absolutely traumatizing Had I known I would have rather paid an extra few thousand rand and flown with a reliable airline

FRAUD
I bought a fly ticket more than one year ago The flight was cancelled due to the current pandemia They never give me my money back and the support I received from this company was zero I highly recommend not to buy any ticket from this company

This airline is not refunding my
This airline is not refunding my tickets after the moved the flight dates DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM you will book your ticket the will move the dates and you will not be refunded Had to spend extra money on top of what I lost because they moved our flight dates at the last minute we have been trying for over 2 months now to get a refund and just being ignored without any feedback You have essentially stolen my money for the 2x flights booked Cant believe a company does business like this SCAM DONT BOOK YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY

Terrible
Air Austral is terrible We booked a flight to the Seychelles with a layover in la Reunion Then they changed the first flight to one day earlier and the second flight to four days later So we were supposed to stay 5 days in la Reunion instead of a few hours We would loose 4 days out of 7 on the Seychelles Of course we don t accept this propose Online we just could accpet the change So we went to an air austral office to not accept and cancel this flights that it want be a no-show to contact air austral online we need to wait 20 days for an answer The guy in the office confirmed us that he cancelled it and we must ask for the refund on the homepage of air austral what we did So we did everything thats possible but the answer of air austral is nope They don t give us the refund of the flights Of course we are very upset and will never ever again book with them what a bad service By the way we are frequent flyer and never had a similar issue like this

Very poor
Booked a flight from Mauritius to R union which was first cancelled then postponed to the next day due to a passing cyclone They had us fly in to R union spend 45 min on the tarmac presumably on the plane and then fly back to Mauritius instead of the previous itinerary Needless to say we didn t take the flights and attempted to get our money back Which they refused 1000 down their bunghole Air Austral shame on you

I am very unlucky with this airline
I am very lucky with this airline in 2020 even no rstrictions flight was cancelld waited 18month for refund good luck get it now i have a ticket what was open after not fly valid 1 year from first international sector flight in low season fare or pay fare diffrence meaning until june 2024 they refuse it and say have to fly until december thats not a year from the first flight thats about 6month i thnink they do not have flight at all after january discussion useless or no answer asked the consumer protection board to help and airaustral office short email we stop working since than no answer more i want to fly with my ticket under the written condition of them 1 year from first flighti try contact lawyer in la reunion but useless3 mails no answer i think they know whythis is an exotic destination thats why lack of transport and they behavour is like princess on other routes they would die long ago due to lack of services

THE WORST COMPANY EVER
BOOKING MXMLZII can say that after 100 countries this is the worst airline I have ever used You changed my ticket for reasons beyond my control I decide to refund it because I cannot take that flight 2 days later as you propose because I have to be in South Africa before I have to buy another one on my own change the route lose a day Even so two months later I still have not received the refund today I file a claim hopefully because it is not easy and you tell me that I am not entitled to compensation because I was notified 15 days in advance I DON T WANT COMPENSATION SIMPLY THE REFUND THE AMOUNT CORRESPONDING TO THE FLIGHT THAT I COULD NEVER ENJOY NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT COMPENSATION To this day since this company has been confused I cannot file another claim and THEY ARE STEALING MY MONEY FROM A FLIGHT THAT I NEVER TOOK IT S BEEN ALMOST TWO MONTHS I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE WHERE THE COMPANY CHANGES THE FLIGHT I SELECT THE REFUND OPTION AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE REFUND I beg and plead for an answer To say that even if I beg and plead I will defend myself by flooding myself with bad opinions since I will ask for help from very influential people in the world of travel let s remember that I have traveled to many more than 100 countries many fiturs as well as experts in social engineering to that these opinions spread and reach millions of people I hope for a quick response and that it is not ignored anymore All the best

Johannesburg to Reunion and return Unsure if everything was fine with that plane as there was grinding noise as well as continuous vibrations Due to it we were not even able to use our arm rests Flight to Reunion delayed Return flight cancelled by airline a few days before Only option to accept a flight a few days later No accommodation etc offered As per EU regulation they are also obliged to compensate passengers Handed in my compensation request 2 months ago Received confirmation by airline Since then neither compensation has been paid nor does Air Austral reply to any email

Time to renew the fleet
We just flew from Mauritius back to Paris on a boeing 777 and I didn t know they still run those old planes Old seats crappy small screens with these outdated wired remotes food was average please renew your fleet
