Name change experience
If you need to change your legal name don t They make the process so difficult and with so much bureaucracy you will wonder if you re really dealing with a financial institution or technically inept business First you can t change your name yourself standard It s not apparent how to change your name and when you call you get some snotty likely underpaid CSR who directs you to complete a docusign form and attach your legal documentation again standard Where Alliant fails is apparently they cannot enlarge the document or actually click into the attachment And they then proceed to email you a lot saying your docs are too small and to keep resubmitting Get your together with your technology you re not even a big financial powerhouse Sincerely someone who is very irritated and frustrated with your garbage customer service I shouldn t have to complete a docusign multiple times nor submit my drivers license and marriage license multiple times NO OTHER FINANCIAL INSTITUTION has been this difficult

If you like repeating yourself while talking to a robot which constantly misunderstands your perfect English then this is the bank for you This outfit is forever fixing things their website their Allpoint Network and the ATM cards they use their withdrawal limits and makes excuses to top it off You pay OYA for lost time waiting around for Basic Services They remind me of their parent company Radical corporate culture is to blame Yellow flagged long ago Red flagged currently

Find a different Financial Institution
Find a different Financial Institution I would not recommend doing any banking with Alliant Just getting a Debit card took 3 times to get a debit card for my Savings account sent to my house It took 28 days which is normally a 4 day process They have no walk in centers Everything is done via app or debit card One day someone else s paycheck was deposited in my account The list is long on what they have messed up in

I AM SO MAD AND ANGRY WITH THEM YESTERDAY WAS PRIME I ORDERED TWO ITEMS FROM AMAZON AND I HAD TO CANCELL MY ORDERS THANKS TO ALLIANT I HAD TO CANCELL MY ORDERS SO I CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SHE TELLS ME BECAUSEI MADE A DEPOSIT SO THE PUT MY MONEY ON HOLD NO THERE WAS NO DEPOSIT I TRANSFERRED MONEY FROM MY SAVINGS TO MY CHECKING WITHIN MY ACCOUNT THEN SHE TELLS ME I ONLY HAVE TWENTY DOLLARS IN MY ACCOUNT BUT MY APP SAYS SIXTY WHEN THEY FINALLY RELEASE MY FUNDS I WILL BE CANCELLING CLOSING MY ACCOUNT I M GOING ELSEWHERE WITH MY MONEY THANKS TO ALLIANT I LL BE SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR

Run Run Run personal loans and they are requesting Video verification video recording of yourself Holding your ID close to your face and state your full name your date of birth and tell them why iyou re tataking out a loan and that you understand that you re responsible for paying it back in full Ensure that the sound and lighting are appropriate I think this is so ridiculous Well I took my business to another institution and I m all set Alliant Credit Union the 1 scams

Total scam No go
Log in process was terrible customer support was very slow and annoying I transferred 25 and it only shows 10 with caption saying balance is 15 Total scam I singed up simply because of bonus on swagbucks but if you are not here for that DO NOT sign up

Leave this company
Leave this company while your balance is still accessible and correct they are circling the drain Double billed debits getting worse and worse and they refuse to fix it and blame the vendors and then send me overdraft notices It s like wells fargo stuff but actually due to incompetence vs evil Then to boot their entire platform was down mobile AND web for a day which is virtual insolvency for an online bank Things aren t getting better these days run while you can

Terrible mortgage lender servicer They have made countless errors mis-applying escrow funds forgetting to apply an extra principal payment and it is impossible to get any help via customer service Many emails - many phone calls and I STILL am unable to speak to a person who understands the situation and will work with me to fix it They keep ping-ponging me to different people Additionally I have had two people be blatantly rude You just don t understand I do this every day etc when I am trying to get them to acknowledge and fix an error AVOID AVOID AVOID If you have any problems they will not work with you to get them fixed

Beware of this bank
This is one of the worst credit unions ever Transfers to and from an external bank takes almost a week After that there s a so-called general hold before your funds are available To make things worse there are all types of fees involved Also I never signed up for a Savings account but yet this bank opened a Savings account on my behalf without my consent Then they charged all kinds of fees for an account that I never opened Will not recommend such a credit union for banking purposes

Poor misinformed Customer Service
1hr and 30 minute hold time then it disconnected me at 1hr 30mins and 5 seconds On a previous call a Customer service rep misinformed me about transferring money from an outsdide account to Alliant for a CD and now they are making me jump through hoops to transfer my money back

During my first time home buying
During my first time home buying experience I felt very taken advantage of The process of home buying can be very intimidating if you aren t knowledgeable you will be taken advantage of The lender I worked with did not take the time to fully explain the process or what he was doing I did not continue on with this bank simply due to the trust factor Also the wrong appraisal was ordered that I paid for out of pocket they are unwilling to refund me although the actual loan processor agreed with the inappropriate handling of this entire process I wouldn t use Alliant ever for any home buying financing My experience wasn t good at all

Terrible customer service
Long time Alliant Credit Union customer I have recently had to close all my accounts with them due to poor customer service They forfeited the rewards balance on my credit card TWICE costing me over 100 They don t communicate terms and conditions clearly and they take no responsibility for any issues Glad to not have to deal with these people anymore

Supports financial scams Treats chargebacks as its own money No matter how small Even for decades-long member On credit card a fraudster made a charge and never delivered in months Alliant refused refund saying had to provide PayPal invoice charge read PayPal Crooks cleaned out my PayPal account and identity and to this date are still sending me phishing fraud messages trying to steal more The standard legal procedure is to try seller first then if no resolution ask card issuer to chargeback Alliant refused chargeback even though I followed all procedures 3 times including my letter to VP by name Stating I knew procedure by virtue of helping write consumer finance law for Federal Government--my true employment for 3 decades Bottom line would not help It spent much more in its time than the 43 stolen from me And has lost this customer for most anything

Credit Card Deliberately Services Scammers Longtime member Made transaction thru PayPal for a specialized battery that never came Tried relief through PayPal whose account had been erased by them Then went to the promised chargeback relief through my credit union card the kind that promises to make us whole if a fraudulent transaction occurs Alliant repeatedly refused not only chargeback but any information on who my funds went to deliberately supporting crooks As a retired bank regulator I went through all the proper steps Still given and 0 00 Chargeback problems would have fallen on me and not Alliant but policy is to screw accountholders The small amount could have been written off as goodwill to long-term member and this matter consumed much more peoples paid time than the disputed Less expensive just to refund as advertised but no the crooks had to be protected

Absolutely the worst experience I have
Absolutely the worst experience I have had with a financial institution The HELOC underwriting process was hindered by an uninformed and unqualified individual Once approved i was informed I would need a checking account as well I opened the checking account received checks transferred the majority of the HELOC into the checking and wrotew a check for that amount The checked bounced because unknown to me the checks were for the HELOC not the checking account I was charged for the transfer the overdraft and the subsequent wire transfer to cover the bad check In addition the floating rate rose 3 days after closing When I called to straighten this out I was on hold for over an hour and i as told there was nothing they could d do

Tried to open up a savings account and CD Twice try to transfer money into the account and it kept kicking it out saying no account found So there was never any money put into it I called a couple of times was not happy with the customer service So I called to close the account completely and a girl who sounded like she was half asleep told me I haven t had it open for 90 days and I would be charged a 10 fee to close it So I told her I ll call back in 90 days wanted to tell her she could go back to sleep now

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service I have 3 loans with this company and they accused me of failing to make a payment I had to perform my own audit with my bank and provided them with bank statements and they still disputed it What a joke After harassing me and wasting hours of my time on the phone they said oh it was an accounting error and then offered me nothing to compensate me for my wasted time Do not do business with them as they care nothing about their customers

Do not invest your money here
Do not invest your money here I attempted to open up a savings account since Sep 2022 it has been 3 months now and I still can t the multiple supervisors and customer service reps to figure out why their system gives me an error message when trying to open up a simple savings account Only reason I hung on so long is Suze Orman recommended them and now I can t and will not invest my money with them can you imagine if something serious happens and you can t get someone there to figure an issue out with your money
