Review of Teaching Platform Pros Cons and Areas for Improvement

It s a good option for teachers since they don t charge any extra fees to the instructors but they charge a 15-20 fee per class to students and many students think this can be quite expensive Additionally it s good that there is a minimum price that ensures the quality of the teachers work I have been teaching Spanish for a year and most of my students are from Belgium or France Compared to other platforms it is easier to earn money here and you can promote yourself more easily making it less competitive This is hard to achieve on other platforms However there are several areas for improvement Firstly the available schedule is quite limited it s only from 9 AM to 11 PM For example I wake up at 6 AM to teach and could easily work during broader hours but I can t register for that Furthermore they only allow you to set a general calendar not by day which makes it impossible to specify the exact hours I m available For instance I have classes until midnight but students can book at 1 AM which doesn t make sense I can t choose the hours I want to work on a daily basis I have to coordinate directly with the students Another issue I ve raised with the platform is that messages are not instantaneous they go through a filter and are sent with delays Also students can cancel classes during the lesson without penalty and it s the teacher who has to re-register the class and decided if make the penalty or not which can be frustrating
