Excellent technical support from Steve Apps4Rent
I ve been wrestling with Microsoft not freeing up old 365 tenant names for some time This resulted in my having a temporary tenant name for some years Micirosoft has changed it s policy and practice so I took another crack at it After a series of interactions with Apps4Rent and Microsoft 365 Support Steve from Apps4Rent sorted it out - including a whole lot of related consequential issues I m confident that the final step - correcting the SharePoint subdomain to reflect the corrected tenant name - will get sorted off-line
