DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
I chose Askew s to represent me during the sale of my first home What a mistake this was The initial sale of the property went smoothly enough with completion in August 2021 following which all due payments were made and accounts settled as I understood it Three months later in November 2021 I received an email out of the blue stating there was an outstanding payment of 2 200 to be made in relation to the Help-to-buy scheme The tone of this email strongly implied that this was no fault of Askew s Immediately following this email I was being pressured to make the additional payment immediately I found this rather confusing and disturbing as I assumed that all costs payments etc covered by the completion documents were full and final and that the matter was legally and financially closed Given the serious personal financial implications of this I decided to investigate further I later discovered that the figures calculated and provided by Askew s on my presumably legally binding statement of completion were incorrect At this point Askew s attempted to shift the blame on to myself implying that there was some information that I didn t supply correctly As it happens it was Askew s that provided incorrect information on the Help-to-buy scheme Which they later fully admitted to in another email However Askew s have continued pressuring me to pay this money without offering any sort of compensation or empathy for the shoddy job they have done They even went as far as to imply that I should be responsible for checking their calculations If this is the case the fees I paid to them are hugely excessive Throughout the complaints process I ve had very little in the way of an apology or any offer of compensation for the inconvenience and stress they have caused me In summary I wouldn t bother with them Look somewhere else

Really poor service please find another solicitor
Really dissatisfying service I urge anyone local to Teesside to find another solicitor we were so disappointed with the poor communication but most of all the service being drawn out for almost two years In doing so who knows how many more hours they charged for Time and money that could have been saved if our family had went to another solicitor to sort out such a personal issue

It is difficult choosing a solicitor with all the choice out there - I chose Lianne Payne at Askews Legal because of the positive reviews and valued recommendations and I was not disappointed Lianne was brilliant understanding and switched on She was very thorough fair and transparent in fighting my case saving my reputation and establishing justice for which I will always be grateful Everything was dealt with quickly and professionally but with a personal touch I wouldn t hesitate to recommend or use Askews Legal again - very glad I picked them

I called this company as I wasn t happy
I called this company as I wasn t happy with my existing solicitor The initial conversation was helpful and they said someone would call me back About an hour later Bally Mawi called me She was kind and I felt like she cared she described herself as just a minion and explained she was not a solicitor This lady provided me with excellent advice and is clearly knowledgeable of family law and the court process I felt like I was talking to a friend Thank you Bally for talking to me at length You are amazing and I will follow your advice
