Update vehicle Audi A6 Avant 3 0 TDI BiT Quattro Competition 326pk 2016 L-176-LZ WAUZZZ4G0GN120898 is back in auction late November 2023 Auction A1-16503-34 - odometer reading kms carfax link given is invalid The management of the company are well aware of odometer fraud since June 2023 but continue to try to offload this clocked vehicle despite in the reply from my earlier review stating they present all the available information without concealing anything The car I bid on in June 2023 same as in auction again in late November 2023 is an import from Switzerland registered in the Netherlands in 2021 with an odometer reading of 139000 KMS An amazing car but unfortunately the last real odometer reading recorded in Switzerland before it was imported to Netherlands was 203435 kms back in July 2020 according to the carVertical report highly reputable background check So perhaps one should indeed be careful what to bid on as it turns out some cars are in many more than their stated maximum of three auctions This one Audi A6 Avant 3 0 TDI BiT Quattro Competition 326pk 2016 L-176-LZ WAUZZZ4G0GN120898 had been in quite a few auctions on this site since the end of March 2023 on each occasion with winning bids of all around the same amount of 23 000 plus auction fees etc on top How many winning bidders may have declined to register or collect this specific vehicle What of other vehicles one could wonder My advice - pay for a full report like that of CarVertical for any car you wish to bid on at any car auction The 20 will save you thousands and a lot of time Car auctions are not for the faint hearted and this auction is not a safe place The Automotive Auctions BV management through their consideration did help to find a solution your as this vehicle was a true case of lipstick on a pig - a vehicle that has been in no less than 5 auctions when their Feitjesmachine see website stated that as a practice vehicles they auction will never appear in more than 3 auctions - a blatant lie if you check their auctions well other search engines than Google done delete older listings It cost me 50 of the auction fees 2070 payable as a surrender charge to back out which I had to first pay to Automotive Auctions auctioneer before Troostwijk would credit back my full 29000 This despite trying to appeal to the good nature of the founder of Automotive Auctions while TBAuctions turned a blind eye The only way I would ever see the bulk of my money returned was to pay this surrender charge So what about the business model in play It seems they have a like a very similar inventory featuring vehicles like this one Are bidders continuously backing out and having to pay surrender charges to Automotive Auctions to have TBA refund the full bid when it goes wrong and is this their best way to generate revenue Too hard to actually sell some decent cars or would background checks of carVertical turn up more gems in their auctions Is it better to make money with satisfied customers bidding on and being delighted with amazing vehicles or is making money through surrender charges just a better business model And no response from Automotive Auctions below justifies blackmailing me out of 2070 for nothing in return - contrary to their view we did not find a solution together the fact is the only way I could get my full refund from their partner Troostwijk who manage the financials was to separately pay this amount to Automotive Auctions - probably the commission of the auctioneer Paying over two thousand euros with nothing in return cannot also have felt good for several bidders who also bid and backed out on the same vehicle before me An interesting if not distasteful manner to generate revenue This review serves as a warning for others as while it is the responsibility of the bidder to research a vehicle ahead of bidding AA know that if bidders were to buy reports on cars in their auctions via Carvertical CARFAX or a similar reputable background checking site the above vehicle might not be the only one with a questionable odometer reading This review is not about portraying Automotive Auctions in a negative light it s about stating the facts and warning others of the risks of dealing with this auction house There are other similar reviews on their Facebook page too

Great level of amateurishness

I paid everything Automotive Auction asked for a week before for the export but on the day of pickup they discovered an administrative issue and were unable to offer any solution They asked me to go by train to another city to do the paperwork but this long waste of time didn t work In addition the condition of the car did not match the description I will spare you the mechanical lies of the employee to justify smokes from the exhaust After 3 hours a manager found solutions and things went back to normal I didn t expect this level of amateurishness

We arrived for the pickup in time they wanted to come back for the car next day we came from 1000 kms because the car is not cleaned so we decidet to take the car in disgusting dirty condition Damaged parts garbege in the car engine is not starting

I bought a car from an auction and picked it up but I have not received the export documents for over a month Despite multiple emails the dealer fails to give any clear answers Now I need to involve lawyers causing me extra costs and frustration I do not recommend this company

I bought a Mercedes from 2017 and I was not informed that the gearbox and clutch were not working the whole car trembled when I loaded it This problem will cost me 1500-2000 euros A very bad experience

Expect additional costs

It all started out great Helpful service and the car was quickly in my possession Unfortunately after bringing the car home it went wrong After two days the first warning signs came and after four days the car wasn t able to drive any more It had to be towed to a nearby garage where it stays until today Diagnosis for now broken automatic transmission broken 12v battery and problems with the main battery electric car When I checked the car it didn t have any warning signs But I cannot believe this wasn t known at least to the previous owner I m feeling ripped off and because off the way off purchase I don t have anything to fall back on It feels like they sold me a car that wasn t in a driving state and needed allot repairs first Because those were expensive they offloaded it They didn t inform me and I m left with thousands of euros in additional costs I understand that sometimes cars break down and it all might be bad luck on my end But because they explicitly are asking for positive reviews I m leaving my experience here so others might think twice before doing business with Automotive Auctions Beware that they might not mention issues en problems that aren t obvious and you re only able to find when you re already the owner of the car and are stuck with the costs
