Do Not Use I never write reviews but Avis Lisbon have been a total scam Lots of hidden charges not agreed to Insurance charged that wasn t explained and they re quick to get you to sign Left car full of fuel received by representative who checked everything then later charged an 80 euro fuel charge Still weeks after taking a charge from my card that I will block

Poor vehicle conditions
Despite booking a Volvo V60 I was given a Ford Kuga with no charging cable the engine oil needed replacing and emergency SOS button not working Very Poor condition of the car I suffered a tyre puncture on the way back to return the car and the customer service charged me an extra 200 Euros for less than a 2 hour delay despite me paying to fix the tyre on my own Absolutely dreadful service Should stay far far away

Another scam at Faro airport please do something about this Avis We rented a car via Easyterra and got scammed with additional insurances and services that were already booked via Easyterra Costing us an additional 451 on top of the payed rental charge We did not agree to these additional costs and the rental agreement was in Portuguese Very nice to take advantage of two people with a little baby

Deposit not returned
Hello We rented a car in lisbon from Avis Lisbon rua castilho for 2 days 3-4 june 2024 and paid in advance At pick up we have paid additional amount of 86eur to upgrade to full insurance coverage and were asked to deposit 200 eur that will be returned at drop off The amount was blocked on my credit card because they didn t accept cash Noting that this amount was afterwards charged and debited from my car without any invoice Since then am trying to call the number in the rental contract with no success I wrote several emails to return the 200eur and didnt receive any reply This is not acceptable at all from a known company like Avis Please am asking any agent from Avis to reply and help me

I rented a car from AVIS at Porto
I rented a car from AVIS at Porto Airport which had been arranged through the travel company I used I was offered an upgrade at the airport from a group D vehicle to a group M I was advised that this was an additional 50 euros in total and that it would be an additional 20 euros to add my partner I have actually had over 700 deducted from my credit card Also I returned the car full of fuel and they are charging me for filling the car up They have very sharp selling practices and I wouldn t recommend them again If they do offer an upgrade I would check exactly what you are going to be charged before you sign I am disgusted by the poor customer service

Avis openly scamming customers
Shocked that a major brand like Avis would rip off customers like this Avoid Avis Faro at all costs They have been sneakily getting customers to unknowingly sign the excess cover and then get charged almost 400 for this but you sign without seeing the form It s also illegal they don t email you the forms after and could be reported to the Portuguese police I stayed longer in Portugal after renting my car and they pretended they had no idea who I was and nothing they could do This has been going on for years - by the look of other reviews and Google Reviews too

Recent hire at Lisbon as a Preferred customer booked via the Avis website Defective car provided with a creaking door and dodgy fuel gauge Note left on return Charged for 1 3 of a tank of fuel despite providing receipted evidence of 3 refuels to try to get the gauge to 8 8 at a filling station close to the airport the last being at 18 59 for a 05 10 flight Needed mobile wifi ordered online at EUR72 for 8 days but booking lost and charged twice as much at the rental location All problems noted on return and ignored by the station and customer services unresponsive Going elsewhere in the future

Avis Portugal is close to being a scam Their cars break down putting their customers in danger They don t live up to written or verbal agreements They charge arbitrary amounts on credit cards even without an invoice or contract Service is done by a call center in Hungary Management is Spanish or Italian and far away from daily operations it shows To be avoided

Unfortunately I have had some bad experience with Avis portugal Contact people mostly had very poor customer service and gave little or incorrect information Having to drive 90km on my little spare rated to 80km hr on a motorway of 120km hr Because no cars in area of Obidos and policy to take car back to head office rather than just a local repair agent Thank God I didn t have a flat 400km away Four phone calls to different locations getting told various things really took a toll Be aware
