American bias not UK friendly
it is very confusing software full of American terms with no guidelines for the UK employee but is unfortunately being sold to unsuspecting UK HR departments I wish our HR department had bothered to read some of the reviews

My HR Director initiated contact with
My HR Director initiated contact with BambooHR and after reviewing the product I HR Manager decided to contract with them I executed the contract I used my credit card for monthly service dues My HR Director terminated employment with my company shortly after Within weeks of executing our agreement we decided to terminate this agreement prior to implementation We had invested over 6k and the sales rep and implementation specialist stalled and would not stop charging my card told me that my former supervisor would have to approve the termination knowing she was gone stalled some more and said the CEO of the company would need to terminate the contract We are talking an international company with a CEO who does not engage in matters like this They would not allow the VP of Global HR to terminated this contract not the CFO and all the while continued to charge monthly services fees thousands waiting on a termination letter from a former employee or the CEO In good faith I entered an agreement with them I executed the document and was unable to terminate the contract As the executer of their agreement I should have had authority to engage and disengage I cannot in good faith ever recommend a company with such deviant business practices and steer all of my collogues and friends completely away from them based on this experience The experience happened in from December 2022 and well into 2023

BambooHR sucks fix your sales
BambooHR maybe a good software but their SDRs are atrocious 2 SDRs for BambooHR contacted me with no prior intimation They then refused to inform me about pricing except over phone A 5 minute phone call to tell me about pricing took more than 3 weeks and I was required to schedule time with an SDR who just wasn t empowered to offer me a quote over email or online I run a B2B company and a client should be able to find you when they want This includes the ability to send proposals offline when they can be reviewed For a company that insists on calling you to give a price primarily implies that 1 They are not transparent and offer a different price to every customer which is anti-market or else 2 Disorganised where a proposal or RFP requires 2 chaps to come to an outcome or an offer no sales cadence at all This is 2019 This sort of customer experience is unimaginative abhorred and speaks of a customer culture that is broken Ben Peterson your company can do better maybe take a minute out of planning an exit and explain why pricing is not offered on your site and small customers that you are purportedly built for are being treated like 6th graders

I had to move to a UK company after
I had to move to a UK company after they accidently loaded someone elses data into our live site Nothing i could do no one was interested at bamboo and no one was interested outside of bamboo as they are not an EU company Nothing I could do leason learned Worst part is we noticed at 8am but because of the time difference no one was there to support is until around 2pm UK time We have now moved to a UK supplier whilst the software isnt as nice at least I feel my data is safer

Easy Pretty but the Worse
Bamboo is easy to use and looks pretty but their customer support is the absolute worse When I ask a question they ask me to read an article or it just gets bounced around from person to person and does not actually get resolved Or they attempt to resolve it but ask you first to answer 15 questions We are using the advantage package which you would think covers everything since it costs 450 USD per month But you have to pay extra for performance management There is no option to bulk download all your employee data you would have to do it person by person So once you enter the data in their system good luck getting it out If I knew all this before I joined I would have gone with another HRIS system

Unfortunately Bamboozle not the answer
Yea since we ve started with these people my pay check is similar to a Ferris wheel I used to receive it every other Wednesday between 5 38 - 5 42 pm Every single time With Bamboozle it s Thursday morning Friday morning or afternoon Heck even at 2 46 am one time So I call and of course they won t tell me anything I m not the contact person so All these companies use every excuse to not help people Their favorite word is unfortunately

Poor features poor interface needs an overhaul and expensive
I ve used Bamboo in a number of organisations and I can only assume they fired all of their software developers in the year 2000 because the interface and features are what I d expect from that era One-to-ones are a good example This is a critical activity within HR to loop after people yet one-to-ones are displayed in a table with narrow columns AND IN REVERSE ORDER Who the hell though that was a good idea

The Village of Tequesta has been using
The Village of Tequesta has been using BambooHR since Feb 2016 We first heard of them after googling the top cloud based HRIS of 2015 and the reviews were spot on I could rave all day long about their hiring benefits time-off performance management training employee satisfaction employee well-being onboarding and off-boarding modules just to name a few but I ll keep it simple with this advice - JUST DO IT You will not regret it Their prices are also reasonable for all the updates that we get on a regular basis The Hiring module saved my sanity over the past 2 years with the speed that we were able to replace personnel due in part to their partnership with Indeed and Ziprecruiter at no additional cost The only challenge that I ve experienced is related to the fact that we are a municipality with unions and public safety personnel police fire whose work hours are unique and whose benefits are tied to their unions but we ve been able to implement some work-arounds using other resources that we have in place We ve not used their Payroll module which was more recently added so I m not able to comment on that Overall it has been a wonderful experience and their customer support is outstanding
