They say that you get what you pay for
They say that you get what you pay for I own an older pre-owned BMW motorcycle and this time decided to keep servicing it at the dealers despite being capable to it myself It s just the quality of finish and fine tuned electronics suspension engine deserve better than my Clarkson hammer I ve never been disappointed with the service You see the issue with the independent garages is that you will never know what was exactly done if it was needed to be done what components and parts they used and if it was done to the manufacturer s specs And that s a fact Of course there are some great independent garages but they re not all that cheap either Yes BMW services are expensive I wish they charge less for the oil for example but you will get a video from the inspection and a report You are also treated the same way regardless of owning the newest GS or RT or a 10 years old commuter They do know that while sitting there waiting free great coffees chocolates and biscuits you might be tempted to take a test bike for a spin 35 or so and maybe use their financial services to upgrade They have some great discount schemes and the whole noob to a rider package I d definitely take advantage of those if my credit score wasn t broken beyond the repair Maybe there s a dealership s manager who wanted to be a guarantor on my loan D so yep if you can t afford a new bike look at their approved range of second-hand motorcycles I used that scheme twice and each time got a pristine bike that required ZERO maintenance but some chain lube Even if you re buying an older bike you still get the same warranty often also a booklet of discount vouchers and an option to pay for the years of servicing up front which in turn it will be much cheaper overall and protects you from the inflation Personally I used two dealerships - Vines in Surrey and Wollaston in Northampton Both great with super attentive and helpful stuff trustworthy workshops and good amenities Both went above and beyond to help and I ve never had any issues with serviced bikes Now I only miss the times when the computer wound not say no to my finance application but that s another story

How can a company be so inept
I was due to collect my new R1250RT next week Today I was called by the dealer and told that the bike not yet received was under a recall and I could not take delivery Apparently the bolts that hold the front calipers in place can fail How can a company that has been manufacturing motorcycles for 99 years be so inept as to design a bolt that cannot do its job I am due to tour Portugal at the end of March so I fear that might not happen now Well done BMW Motorrad I should have gone to Honda

Williams Motorad Manchester sold me a lemon
Williams originally sold the bike that i paid 500 deposit on and offered me another one with carbon that i thought was a bargain but turned out to be a lemon Bought a new used with low miles S1000rrM sport found the riding modes for sport dynamic road not right because the bike does a wobbly and is very unstable n difficult to ride on open rds ie A roads n motorways with the bike moving to the left of the carriageway The issue is with the suspension front and back including rebound including traction control Charles Hurst BMW service department told me they cant change the riding settings and Williams BMW expect me to use it in pro race modes that i done myself I m not satisfied with this because I can t change on the fly and I have been told by Williams Manager Craig to get a suspension specialist that will void my warranty or go down the route of taking the bike back and they give me trade price for it and look after me with another bike I don t call this being looked after I wouldn t trust them because it could happen again with any bike with electronic riding modes setup including suspension traction control I have spoke to head office BMW and will take it further with BMW and legal advice My bike is not fit for purpose bmw are obliged to repair or replace item under warranty within 6 months from purchase by consumer rights act 2015 N B I should of taken bike back within 30 days and got my money back

Shocking Service - Avoid Lind Motorrad Welwyn Garden City
These guys took my BMW650 GT for a service and parts change back in May 2022 and finally finished the work in September 2022 That s x4 months to service the bike and replace some parts Excuse for the delay was order time from Germany when I paid up-front for parts a covid outbreak at the dealership and having a busy period I was also spoken to very rudely several times by an account manager who I understand has now left No compensation was offered and a Summer bike trip with my mate had to be cancelled as a result The only reason I d use these guys in the future is as a free bike park what a shambles and not what you expect from a premium brand like BMW

Shocking shipping and customer service
Ordered a part Saturday 10th Feb firstly shipping said 8 by the time I got to the checkout suddenly that had risen to 19 I naively thought well BMW are a quality brand you re paying for that The extortionate shipping then said 3-5 working days As I placed the order on a Saturday morning I am aware that s probably not a working day Mine days later still no sign It s finally changed on the website to shipped but that s about it I ve emailed customer service twice and been ignored I m still waiting I regularly order items from other motorbike shops and never have an issue I love my BMW bike but I will never order from BMW again
