Sarcastic and rude customer service
Sarcastic and rude customer service agent couldn t explain why B B put my renewal up by 60 a year and tried slating other companies saying they d do the same this time next year I didn t expect this at all perhaps train your staff better and maybe have a better explanation for why you feel the need to hike your prices up for LOYAL customers AVOID AND PAY A BIT MORE FOR SOMEONE ELSE I d happily pay an extra few a month if I knew I could rely on a company to help me out but B B don t fill me with hope

Find a better insurance company They were loath to do even the bare minimum - it was our first and seemingly straightforward claim about a defective door lock They will do as little as possible to make it right Even if that results in absurdity I know that s the cliche about all insurance companies that they will do the bare minimum but my family has had more positive experiences with Nationwide who have been far more willing to help with bigger and more costly issues By contrast Bradford and Bingley insist on doing the barest of minimums - even if that means the results are flimsy and pathetic Go elsewhere

Disgusting
Been with them five years when a bank error occurred causing them to claim the payment 10 days later with an additional 20 charge told me they d emailed finance department and they would get back to me within 48hours they didn t During the initial phone call they asked if I want to renew needles to say I didn t and got a better deal elsewhere at more than half the price of Bradford bingley Make no wonder it failed as a building society

Some feedback1 There is no communication channel to cancel renewals except via phone call long queue 2 You can t respond to their emails Why not 3 The business appears to be structured on escalating year on year policy increases with no change of circumstances and a difficult to cancel policy 4 Ive had 4 renewal letters despite cancelling andrecieving an email to confirm What a waste paper and resources

They didn t change my address for an entire year when I called to change this got my renewal through so called to complain about this and to cancel they said due to Covid we work from home so we will get a call back in 10 days nearly a month passes no call and now auto renewal has kicked in they also want to charge for cancelling dd Absolutely disgusting Gets better though Called up today and they say no you ve never called in

Wish i could give 0 stars total disgrace of a company Very unhelpful staff and managers Forget loyalty to customers many years of using them for building contents insurance This company couldn t care less about loyalty Also advised partner died 2 years ago they failed to amend policy and having to tell them again they have now increased renewal quote for policy by over 5 a month for a what is now sole policy not joint and no changes bar taking a name off Nothing but bad service lame excuses and would not recommend ever Now looking for other quotes as you cannot be trusted to actually give any customer service or do as askedTotally agree with all the bad reviews on this site

I got severely burned by these absolute scum bags Having purchased home insurance and claiming for a damaged mobile phone they thought of every reason possible not to pay After I cancelled my insurance making it difficult to get future insurance I ve never been treated so badly treated by a a bunch of crooks Their under write Legal and General also just as bad

The worst Home Insurance Company
I spent 2-3 hours on phone trying to get Home Emergency assistance from B B as the pilot light went out due to someone using the hot water tap by turning it on and off very fast Despite the emergency of the situation having no hot water at my kitchen tap and shower they couldnt care less they asked me how old the Instant Hot water appliance was whether it was serviced within the last 12 months and then promptly declined my claim to have someone come in to relight the pilot My renewal will be due soon but you can bet your bottom dollar I give them no more time of day

Absolutely useless
I had a leak last Sunday A plumber arrived and isolated the toilet so that no further damage could be done I ve spent over 6 hours on the phone since then trying to get the report which should have been within 24 hours if attendance - the guy took photos etc Operations team hadn t sent a link to claims department therefore I didn t exist Now I do but still no working toilet and no report even tho my claim had been escalated The most stressful insurance claim ever DO NOT USE THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY USELESS

Cancelling a Home Policy
Called to cancel my policy and was told that there would be a cancellation charge Felt it was a bit unreasonable given that I had been with them for a while and not something I had cancelled inside the first twelve months Customer services person kept butting in and was extremely officious Their complaints procedure is either call or use snail mail I did actually complain on the call so will be interesting to see where that goes You can t cancel the policy online which feels a bit archaic they also wanted me to stay on the line to satisfy their process and waste more of my time Asked them to cancel the policy and let me know what I owe them as I have cancelled my direct debit Wouldn t recommend them hardly surprising that they have such a low score on here
