Non intuitive
Non intuitive Do not use unless you have web design experience or like being tortured No tutorials You will be asking for help every 10 seconds during set up By the time you finish you will be fed up Time consuming It should not be this difficult Agents don t understand what you are asking and require tiresome detailed clarification If you are going to use chat constantly for every step then just get the agent to set the whole thing up so that you don t have to sit there waiting for a new agent every 15 seconds and going over it again and again It s irritating I am good with computers have taught myself loads of things online and this set up is rediculous I know what a learning curve is and this is not that And why is my WordPress login that I was emailed not working Do you know how many times I had to enter that to work out that it was just wrong Why are you giving people wrong login info And since I told the agent it was not working last night why has no one corrected it ya great customer service

They need staff who know what they re doing and are able to investigate problems
Just asked to have both my sites cancelled after 10 years of operation with other hosts Although I like my previous host a great deal I kept getting bounced off their server and he had to keep white-listing my sites to get them operating again so I changed Things were fine at first but since two days ago both my sites began experiencing problems My main site kept directing post links on the main page to 404 error pages and they kept telling me they could not find the directories for those posts THIS IS NOT HOW WORDPRESS WORKS as stated in this excerpt from gigapress net WordPress stores the content of your posts and pages in the wp posts table of your database Because WordPress uses dynamic PHP templates to display your content it does not store an individual HTML file for each page on your site Because of all this and especially their lack of knowledge about a very basic Wordpress function I don t trust that they know what they re doing Re CanSpace s response As I told CanSpace I did a considerable amount of troubleshooting and research myself before contacting their tech support In support of my belief this has all been a server issue here is a described test from wpexplorer com plugins-fix-404-errors-wordpress If it exists but showing up in a browser is a problem then it is a server problem or a WordPress problem For this create 2 separate files- a html file and a PHP file and upload it If you are able to access these files there is no problem with the server and the problem lies with WordPress This is exactly what I did and the files did not come up at all - according to this it is a server issue It s all too easy to dump the issue s onto the client when the company staff are forced into territory that is beyond their knowledge or capability I did my due diligence before contacting them Have they Leaving is my decision I have decided to shut down both sites due to all this Don t let this kind of thing happen to you and ruin your years of hard work I do however see that I made the right decision in leaving

The absolute WORST server to deal with
The absolute WORST server to deal with Chiron is slow at the best of times if you can even access it Server times out more often than not Tech support is condescending and useless Close tickets because they don t want to fix or deal with their junk Am transferring my 2 domains to someplace else They could care less Typical attitude from Day 1 Avoid these guys if you want your emails to work and not end up in Spam Junk folders And if you want your website to stay up running You state folks switch to you as we did back in the beginning from somebody who was overseas That wears off right quick when nothing works I have had 5-6 tickets from day 1 and nothing ever resolved Closed tickets right away and never fixed nothing Provided emails addys that my stuff was ending up in junk folders Your reply was to try up sell me another service The BBB has stories the same as ours I should of done more research before switching to you But seeing your in Toronto and have the typical Center Of The Universe attitude Let my review stand and serve as a warning to other that are shopping for shoddy customer service and a company that doesn t back up their product And if you wanna go legal on this PLEASE

Unreliable
Unreliable I ll be moving to a different webhosting service provider as this company keep changing their website builder and if you have made your website using their Sidpad you ll no longer be able to access your pages and you have to build a new one using their new Sitejet templates Hours of work customizing my website and updating its content will be lost because they are no longer supporting Sidepad I m very annoyed Update replying to Canspace s reply to my review Every time I try to login to Sidepad I get a licencing error I opened a few tickets because of it and every time I was told that I have 2 months to migrate to Sitejet

No full DNSSEC support site was down last week
CanSpace replied to one of the reviews in 2022 by saying Thanks for your feedback We realize it is more convenient for clients to manage their own glue records and DNSSEC records so we do fully intend to add this functionality into the next iteration of our client area which is due in 6-8 weeks It s 2025 DNSSEC toggle is still not available via self-service Oh and their own site was down last week Cloudflare was serving the cached version

Absolute garbage
Absolute garbage I moved my domain over to CanSpace in an effort to buy Canadian with all of the political BS south of the border and abandoned Namecheap as my registrar One week after the transfer my email stopped working Did exhaustive research and everything is correctly configured with MX records through to DKIM SPF and DMARC And I am using Canspace s default DNS servers They said the problem was that the TXT file for verification was not there and even though I got the original verification record for ownership out of the bowels of Google and added it to my DNS settings I am still having the problem And now they are trying to sell me a service to configure the DNS for me when it s already configured The knowledge base is completely useless - a grand total of 35 articles for people to attempt to support themselves I have done EXACTLY that they indicated from a support POV for troubleshooting it hasn t worked and they have stopped responding to my ticket Thanks for encouraging me to go back to Namecheap hats

Very limited self-serve registrar options
I use canspace registrar service only Unfortunately they have no self-serve support for managing custom nameserver glue records A and AAAA or DNSSEC keys so you have to open a support ticket everytime and wait for someone to manually change these things every time you want to change them On the plus side they are fairly quick to respond

The good and the bad
In terms of speed and reliability for the price I recommend it over any other major hosting companies if you are in Canada Ontario especially Although it looks like WHC may be slightly faster by about 10 but it does not justify the price difference Now the bad part Be prepared for major price hikes downgrades every year First year I was offered unlimited cPanel hosting accounts as part of reseller plan which was then downgraded significantly to 15 accounts the next year Fast forward to the following year I was told they will be increasing all reseller price plans up by nearly 40-50 to accommodate recent price hike by cPanel company that they need to absorb and warned there is likely to be more price hikes in the future But upon investigating further it looks to be a strategy they use to increase their revenue significantly not just to absorb cost by cPanel as they like you to believe I ve looked into many other Canadian reseller hosting companies and they have not made a major price increase because of cPanel Moreover they now provide 20-25 price reduction if you purchase their annual or biannual plans Previous years there was no such price reduction It just looks like bait and switch to me
