ABSOLUTELY AWFUL Booked a flight with them and they couldn t find a way to manage my reservation with the airline Booked on an airline that doesn t even have a website What a joke Customer service representative was kind but not helpful at all Will NOT be using Capital Travel again

Rating this after multiple problems over a year with Capital One Travel Portal specifically for booking flights Wrong information is pretty common even on flights I ve booked For instance it will say refundable only for me to realize that it was incorrectly listed on the website It will say a flight is available but once I try to book it it will be unavailable I ve never had these experiences over years of using Expedia and Priceline The only reason I even look at the capital one travel portal is because I have the Venture X card I have to call support so often and lately have had unpleasant and rude experiences

They are a terrible agency that ruin capital one s brand image My flight got cancelled the airline is telling me to get the refund from capital one travel as they are the agency Capital One travel is just refusing to give my money back Total scam

Incopetetent people

Please be very careful with Capital One Travel They will charge you double for a trip and only book it as a one-way not caring about your return home If you call their managers they will lie and claim that you asked for a one-way trip even if the recording clearly shows you requested a round trip Most of their representatives don t speak clear English and they will argue that any issues are your fault Stay away from them Instead open a credit card with American Express and use their rewards they have great customer service Avoid Capital One scammers

All bank travel portals are a rip off

Many people have learned the hard way that all bank travel portals are crap You may earn extra points for booking through the portal but these come at a significant cost 1 You do not earn loyalty points for hotels and rent cars booked through the portal Actually you can earn Hertz points through the Cap One portal but I don t think you get any loyalty benefits with other rental companies 2 The prices for hotels and rent cars are consistently higher than booking directly with the hotel or rental company I am currently on a road trip and planning to stay at a Hampton Inn tonight The room is 131 at Hilton com or 140 at capitalone com I have searched numerous cities for various trips and this is almost always the case Not once have I actually found a lower price on Cap One 3 You do not receive discounted pricing for being members of AAA AARP or any other organization 4 For air travel Terms and Conditions are not the same as when you buy directly from the airlines 5 The Capital One hotel search engine absolutely sucks I just searched for hotels in Dumas TX and I got 102 hits nearly all of which are in Amarillo 50 miles away If I wanted to stay in Amarillo I would have entered Amarillo FYI there are hotels in Dumas I used the map to zoom in to Dumas and then selected the button for search the map area but it still gave me the same 102 matches Between my wife and my daughters I had three Venture X travel credits It took me forever to use them because the pricing was never favorable and I didn t want to overpay just to use the credits

Look elsewhere - Too much of a hassel

This is the absolute worst experience ever Every time I call I get harassed regarding verifying my account Not in the normal way you might expect but in some weird way in which I have to find my husband so that he can validate that I am a card holder I can t even call the travel agency for a simple question without a 3 - 5 minute verification process When I called to provide feedback the automated system does t recognize feedback has a valid reason to call and disconnects you What I m going to have to disconnect you it says Feedback is not welcome and sadly neither are customers

Capital One Travel - Terrible Pricing

The prices are always well above what you can book directly or through the major travel portals Example just booked RT Boston to NYC flight - 247 on Capital One Travel 197 for the exact same flights same class on Kayak or on Delta s website Car rentals you can t select the levels of insurance coverage so you have to overpay at pickup Hotels higher on the portal than booking direct They offer 5-10 points but overcharge you more than the value of the points

Booked flight through capital one travel with rewards and paid 206 for seats additional Seats were cancelled by them according to American Airlines with NO notification through Capital one travel When I called the day before the flight 2 months after I booked the flight while trying to check in early through app I was made aware of the cancellation When I called COT I was told AA didn t accept the method of payment through them AA says not true that they in fact cancelled them Never once was sent an email making me aware of the cancellation by COT nor given refund of my seats that were charged to my account Wasn t until I called their bluff that they offered me refund Will NEVER book through them again

Worst experience I ve ever had booking travel through a credit card company I booked a room in Las Vegas for some employees who were coming out there to work with me The employee s name that the room was under wasn t coming anymore so I called Capital One Travel to change the name on the reservation They spent a week telling me to keep calling in every day and then the day before the trip they told me that they couldn t do it I told them that nowhere during the booking process did it say I couldn t change the name and in fact there was a big button to make modifications upon clicking it told me to call them Custom service said that was just a mistake and the button shouldn t be there I had to throw away a 200 reservation and book it through someone else last minute Absolute garbage service and will never use again I
