Steer Clear - overcharging customers without notice
I was given a quote early September by their Terry Gardiner after his visit on the same day A copy of their terms conditions was also given to me at the same time Nothing whatsoever was mentioned about their overtime charges or how long their standard working hours were On the day of the move at the end of October when I was still anxiously waiting for the key to my new property at 4 30 pm at the new address I was called by Casey s office advising me that they had started charging me overtime from 3 pm at GBP120 VAT an hour I protested saying I had never been warned in advance about such charges and they could charge whatever they like but it didn t mean that I would pay it They had already had my credit card details and on the same day they slapped 4 hours overtime on top of what I had agreed to pay them Their team left at 6 30 pm I was told by their Terry Gardiner that their team would arrive between 8 30 and 9 am but they in fact turned up shortly after 8 on the day of the move I asked them why they had turned up early and the response from them was - It s Friday and we would like to finish as soon as to go home I had to write and speak to them subsequently warning them that I would take my complaint to the Removals Ombudsman and the National Guild of Removers and Storers before they agreed to refund me HALF of the overtime charge they slapped on my credit card Steer clear as this is a cowboy company with no regard to their customers All they care about is to milk as much out of their customers on one of their most stressful days of their life

Without doubt the worst experience I
Without doubt the worst experience I have had in removals over the past 8 years during which time I have moved 3 times The price was reasonable some 6 000 for packaging removal storage and then the return of the furniture On unpacking the boxes I found that one of my glass bookcases had come apart I emailed them immediately with a photo of the broken bookcase and received an email 2 days later saying that they were going to discuss the matter with a manager Meanwhile they went ahead and charged my credit card some 1628 for the return of the furniture I raised this with them only to be told this was in their T s C s Once again I asked them to arrange to pick up my bookcase and have it repaired Still nothing taking up the matter with the manager I guess that they have never heard of the Consumer Act 2015 My credit card company is now disputing the 1628 charge and I have asked my solicitor to commence proceedings against them Nothing appears to get through to them maybe a court case will

Unprofessional unscrupulous and Insensitive Casey s were completely unscrupulous
Casey s were completely unscrupulous and got away with it They confirmed our move date by email then let us down 6 days before the move telling me they had OVERBOOKED In their email they asked us to confirm 7 days beforehand which WE DID So to get the call telling us they would not be moving us at such short notice was extremely stressful They recommended another removal company who charged a whole lot more An additional unnecessary expense We bought bubble wrap tape and lots of boxes from Casey s in advance of our move So we were advertising for them during the move as their name was on all of the boxes When I asked if they would either pay towards our extra costs caused because they let us down or at least refund the cost of their boxes etc as a goodwill gesture the answer was a definite NO I asked the girl in the office who I should write to regarding this matter and she told me to write to Steve Casey I did but he chose to ignore me I wrote twice and had a reply from the girl in the office I did not write to her To summarize Casey s were completely unprofessional unscrupulous and insensitive

When my disabled brother moved into a
When my disabled brother moved into a new flat a few years ago underneath the fridge the lino was ripped and when I complained to the company the person I spoke to didn t know it was a new flat and said I was pulling a fast one to get a new lino it was a brand new flat and thay was the second person to go in there apart from us viewing the flat it never did get replacement one

Appalling customer service accused me of lying
I booked with Casey s as I thought they were a reputable company I could trust I was booking for a piano removal to a neighbour but found out that they would be away so couldn t take delivery on the date I emailed as soon as I found out and tried calling after the weekend Given this was Christmas the office was unmanned and the phone went unanswered - I totally understand this Having finally got through the the office on the morning of the removal I was told that it was not possible to move my removal by 10 days as I they had already got the team in and I was cancelling with no notice - despite emailing and calling prior I asked about a reduced rate to rebook but was told this was not possible The woman on the phone inisisted I had made no effort to contact them accusing me essentially of lying despite me having evidence of making attempts to contact them Competely awful customer service and disappointing lack of flexibility in trying to come up with a solution to the issue given the festive period created difficulties on both sides I thought I was getting a reputable company what I got was the most unprofessional experience I have ever received Avoid at all costs

Terrible Management Customer Service Non-existent Insurance Policy
Summary1 Owners will provide a great sales pitch but they will not speak to you again after that2 Insurance policy they claim to have is not work the paper it is written on and any damages caused will NOT be compensated3 Customer service is non-existentOne of the owners Terry came to visit our property to give us a quote He was a great salesman and we were sold based on the fact that our items would be insured whilst in their Storage facility We have a complicated move as we were moving into temporary accommodation for 1 5 month so would have required their services again as our items will be left in their storage Terry promised that we would get a 10 discount for when we were moving from the temporary accommodation into our permanent residence The movers themselves under Ben as leads were fantastic I can t fault them they worked hard and Ben was a true professionalThe problems started when we needed to move into our permanent residence 1 The 10 discount disappeared because apparently in the 1 5 months they had increased their prices by 20 I find this very convenient and they claimed they were doing me a favour by not charging me 20 extra I asked to speak to Terry who never bothered calling me back The fact is they knew I had no choice but to go with them as my items were in their storage2 We found out there were Southwark roadworks a week before the move We immediately contacted Caesey and they started quoting us the term and conditions when we asked for a date change Apparently even a date change which was completely unavoidable like the council closing the road with a week ahead notice is considered a cancellation and that will result in a 50 non-refundable cost Thankfully after consulting with Southwark we got an exception and they allowed us to park outside Funnily enough Caesey called me the day before asking for a time change but did not offer me 50 cancellation on their behave 3 Moving into the property we again had a team lead by Ben Unfortunately this time there were damages to the property including damages to the furniture and fittings The payment to Casey s is automatic and it had already come out of my account as they used the same card as the one I used to pay the deposit I wrote to Caesey s about the damages immediately and was told I would get someone coming over to review That was 1 month ago and after 4 emails and no response I am now writing this review

Nearly all my furniture was damaged
Nearly all my furniture was damaged I was downsizing and moved into a very small flat I had been told by Mr Casey senior that the removal men had previous experience of the building I was moving into The team leader refused to put my wardrobe where I wanted One of the removal men was seen by a resident at the retirement home using the garden as a toilet on the day of the move
