This is the second time we have used the Charlie s Roof Home Search service and both times they have been extremely helpful and successful Elke quickly found our description or wish list from when we worked with them two years ago and we discussed via phone how to update this Within a few days we had a big list of possible apartments to decide to view or not and Elke secured viewings for us as soon as possible which is difficult in the current situation rental agencies are busy and there is not so much advertised She also followed up after viewing so she could streamline her future suggestions with regards to location size etc We had two apartments that we liked and it was arranged to keep our second choice on hold until we had decided So within 3 weeks we have signed a lease on a great apartment Elke is extremely approachable and we felt very comfortable asking her any questions-general specific or possibly downright silly-we had Can recommend their services

This is the second time we used Charlie s roof home search services As returning customers it was both times very helpful Our last dedicated agent Nathalie was very understanding of our needs and respectful to our budget limitations In the beginning the proposed options were not ideal but after we analyzed in detail what we were looking for and we gave Nathalie constructive feedback the options grew closer to what we were looking for Being on the same page and building a clear-cut and direct communication was the key in our home search We would have liked to have had even more viewings but we understand that had a strong correlation with what was available in the market at that moment Nathalie was always available to answer our questions guide us through and ease our worries She patiently listened to our concerns and thoroughly explained significant details about apartment hunting procedures Her reflexes were acute when a viewing was to be planned and when we found the apartment we liked a second viewing was scheduled fast enough to help us make the final decision with no stress All in all Nathalie played a significant role in putting a smile on our faces and a nice roof upon our heads

First time in Copenhagen

I just arrived to the country and I was super lost with everything related to renting prices areas contracts etc Once I got in contact with CharliesRoof Elke Willimek called me and we checked how my expectations and the housing market matched She explained me everything I needed in great detail Once I was clear about what I wanted we started the hunting for my new place I received immediately a list of properties to check She managed all the contact with the agents and landlords Thanks to her I didn t feel lost nor abandoned and she was always there to help me with anything I would need I got a new apartment in less than a month and the process was very smooth I totally recommend Charlies Roof services Thanks Elke for your help she even wrote me when I was on birthday D

Delighted with our new home

We were recommended Charlie s Roof by a colleague and thanks to Nathalie it was the best decision We had been searching for a new home for a while before reaching out to Charlie s Roof but to no avail Nathalie is competent kind hands-on and patient She understood our needs early on was very accommodating and flexible positive and responsive eventually helping us to secure the most perfect home We couldn t recommend Nathalie highly enough

Cannot recommend

- Lack of clear communication in the early stages after filling out a questionnaire and having to re-state some of the things with the personal agent assigned to us afterwards There was never a clear-common ground I would say where both parties had access to what has already been agreed making some of the information exchanged between the two parties somewhat awkward and clunky Speaking of emails - Zero communication with the customers outside the typical email correspondence which in my book is not sufficient enough to understand the client s needs and for whom the house you re looking for is intended A simple call or video could have increased the agent s knowledge about the perspective clients - Large downtime of receiving further offers once the agent knew we had our eyes on something we were interested which for whatever reason could still fail for all we cared - Put it simply our dream house was not secured and lost the opportunity to rent it despite the urgency of the situation we as clients had to point out to the agent This is simply the core functionality service Charlie s Roof is supposed to provide and well it failed to do so in our case - Some of the offers we were receiving were not double-checked Meaning we expressed interest for an offer that was sent by our agent only to find out that the apartment had been rented Furthermore this also means that perhaps most the of the offers we were receiving and did not check could have been rented out Most importantly the requirement of asking the client to up their budget to 11 000 dkk in order to secure finding a place is questionable After cutting our cooperation with Charlie s roof we found our current place for a significantly lesser amount than even 10 000 dkk within two days after the end of the cooperation with Charlie s Roof This happened for free using a website for apartments So I guess this means your hard-earned cash quote from website is being used to make the agent s life work a lot easier when looking for a place for you Finally I cannot recommend this agency for expats living in Denmark and know a thing about looking for a place in Copenhagen We proceeded to book Charlie s Roof to ensure we had a roof over our head but in the end it really made more harm than good We had better chances looking on our own and that is what I encourage you to do For people arriving in Denmark yes Charlie s Roof might be able to help you since it can be overwhelming when you do not know anything about the country but you have to understand you are simply providing easy work with the guarantees requirements they are asking instead of adjusting to the client s needs you at least budget wise

A big help

Our family is moving to Denmark this July and the logistics were a bit of a nightmare as we were trying to organize everything from Singapore and in the midst of a pandemic But from the very first communication Nathalie made us feel as if we were in safe hands She is really the whole package warm attentive personable hard-working and effective She laid out very clearly the expectations of our relationship and was very responsive to searches we found and shared what she had found Nathalie was REALLY great about showing us around places virtually asking agencies for videos of potential places and providing her assessment of the livability of the place After we settled on a place she was very effective in communicating with the agency and making sure they sent us documents in a timely manner Our minds were completely at ease knowing that Nathalie was taking care of us Thank you very much

We signed with Charlie s Roof after coming up empty-handed searching for a new place to live in Copenhagen in need of both proximity to my new workplace AND a dog-friendly landlord At first our situation felt close to hopeless I received this job offer while on another long-term work trip in Europe and we had but 7 weeks to find an apartment meanwhile I also had to make it back to the US and we needed to sell most of our stuff and pack up the rest and everything in order for an intercontinental move if you ve made one you know all that this entails Mercifully Nathalie entered our lives at the moment we feared everything would fall apart We could tell instantly that this person was highly competent an excellent listener and hard worker and I m happy to share that our relationship with Nathalie seemed only to improve with each new interaction Nathalie s knowledge of the Copenhagen rental market is truly something to behold and put us instantly at ease She took so much of the stress off our plate allowing us to focus on things we could actually control She is always extremely prompt to reply courteous yet funny and overall a delight to work with The phrase above and beyond gets thrown around so frequently that its meaning can easily get lost But there is no misconstruing the level of Nathalie s commitment to her clients thinking we d secure ourselves a bed to sleep on that first night in our otherwise empty apartment we brought along our air mattress from the U S forgetting that our outlet converters were not actually transformers So after 18 hours of travel time with an anxious dog and in a brand new country where we do not yet speak the language it looked like we d all be sleeping on some beautiful but very hard solid pine floors Instead Nathalie came to our rescue she drove home and returned with not one but two air mattresses she had stored in her basement Talk about above and beyond Thank you Charlie s Roof and THANK YOU NATHALIE for helping us relocate to Denmark on such a tight timeline with most of our sanity intact If you re reading this and still on the fence go for it you won t be disappointed
