Terrible customer service
My mum booked a family trip to a cottage in Devon through coast and country The cottage was lovely About a week after returning she got an email saying 50 was being deducted as cigarette butts were found in a bin The 50 was to cover deep cleaning of furniture as they claimed we had been smoking inside and the cottage stank of cigarette smoke ABSOLUTE RUBBISH Firstly smoke alarms inside Secondly my toddler nephew was with us and there s no way anyone would smoke around him Several emails and a letter have been sent with no response whatsoever and no communication before the 50 was deducted just an email with a picture of cigarette butts and the garbage about having to deep clean the cottage Dreadful customer service

Appalled at lack of support
Myself and several other people I know have had the most awful experience with the lack of support from Coast and country during the Corona Virus pandemic Many of us have tried to amend our booking dates for an alternative time for various pandemic related reasons and the company has been totally unhelpful It is really difficult to get through to anyone attall and they are not budging so I have spent 1500 for nothing

Money for old Rope
I unfortunately used this mob to rent my holiday home They are honestly nothing more than money grabbing thieves The service they give is Appalling For the huge huge commission they take which was never explained properly Almost a year after I sold the property I am still getting bogus bills from this absolute shower One example they arranged for a new fire extinguisher when renewing the fire certification which I can buy on eBay for 16 they charged 68 vat Do yourselves a favour DO NOT get involved I promise you will regret it

AVOID
AVOID After having to cancel due to lock down 2 our 570 refund did not appear However Coast and Country still insisted we pay another 570 for a future booking for after Christmas Why can they not refund us for 45 days It s only reasonable to ask them to transfer the payment we d already made to the new booking Getting through on phone is nightmare 1 hour of my life I ll never get back Arrogant and money grabbing

Beware owned by Sykes Holiday Cottages In the past had some fantastic holidays and excellent service BUT now owned by Sykes My parents paid a deposit in October 2019 for a break in a large house for a lot of us in 2020 obviously we couldn t go due to Covid My parents transferred it to April 2021 Now they ve had two weeks of e-mails asking for household details which were provided many times we are multiple households so again we cannot go due to restrictions Having said they will be in touch with the options available they haven t UNTIL it gets to the day the balance was due to be paid After many phone calls and e-mails they are saying my parents have cancelled the holiday because they didn t pay the balance as we cannot go so they are not entitled to the deposit back I think you ll find the government say we cannot go DO NOT use this company awful customer service named and shamed on the Martin Lewis show and under review with the competition and markets authority

Poor Customer Service
We rented an overpriced dirty property in Salcombe that was in terrible need of refurbishment I pointed this all out at the end of our stay and suggested that if they wanted to keep my custom perhaps a voucher towards our next stay might be appreciated instead I have been send a generic email trying to end the conversation In my opinion they do not care about their clients Sadly they clearly think they don t need to as they have a monopoly in the area In future I will avoid using this company if at all possible

Rented an expensive but beautiful
Rented an expensive but beautiful property in Salcombe but the lights didn t work in one of the en suites which meant no showered or toileting at night in the en suite Not sure ideal From then on the customer service was abysmal Three calls and promises to rectify but by the end of the holiday still no lights I then contacted to complain on return finally got an email saying if this had been flagged up it would have been rectified literally ignoring previous 7 interactions I complain again Finally I was offered a bunch of flowers and a voucher to spend on another holiday with them lol The stupid thing is if the flowers had arrived on day 2 with an apology I d have dropped it rather than now feeling insulted Oh and I also got an email saying your enquiry has been resolved to my satisfaction NO it most certainly hasn t Terrible terrible customer service

Terrible service
Terrible service I was a landlady with them but as I hardly got any clients at all - 1 for the whole summer - and I wanted to rent it to a Ukrainian family I withdrew I was then charged over 1000 for withdrawing despite the fact they weren t getting me any tenants I have since been renting on Airbnb while waiting for the Ukrainian family and have got a five star rating and full bookings Terrible service as a holiday home owner I d recommend staying away

Give the appearance they don t care as long as they get your money
The customer service in dealing with a problem of the electricity cutting out several times over 2 days was appalling in my opinion Automated no-reply emails leading to a page that didn t exist or phone calls to a central office that are passed onto local office or the owner or emails and mobile phone messages sent when we had already informed them we had no wifi as electricity was off and no signal at the property We had to leave a day early because of the inconvenience and our request for a courteousy gesture of a small refund was totally ignored Don t book with them
