I hadn t used Colwood Wheel works before but Vince was recommended by a local bike shop who wasn t able to undertake the work I needed on my wheels and wow this man surely knows his trade very friendly and his knowledge of wheels and bikes goes back to when his Dad started teaching him wheel building at the age of four He ll now be my go to person for everything wheel or bike tea and biscuits and a chat all included in very reasonable prices Keith

Wheelbuilding course

I did the one day wheelbuilding course which I found very informative and enjoyable At each stage of the course Vince delivered theory backed up by practical demonstration in a very professional manner prior to experiencing each stage for myself The videos provided before the course were very helpful and gave a feel on what to expect on the day Although a one day course will not make anyone a professional it certainly goes a long way to give the confidence and knowhow into building your first wheel Vince is an excellent teacher and his passion for wheelbuilding and skill is evident I thoroughly enjoyed my day and the learning experience

One to one training

Had a great course of one to one tuition Vince is obviously very experienced with wheels whether bicycle or motorbike You would not believe the variations and differences There is much more to wheels than meets the eye The videos for the course are very supportive for the content made to help anyone learning full of important information that many would take for granted The practical element was really useful progressive steps and one-to-one training is certainly better than any online course Go on one of Vince s courses money well spent every day is a school day as they say but you need to practice after

There s nothing Vince doesn t know about the internals of a Sturmey Archer hub Had an issue with a stripped indicator rod which was an easy fix for him and an impossible puzzle for the rest of us Nice bloke too fixed on the spot while I was waiting Many thanks Vince much appreciated rgds Chris

Vince made an excellent job of rebuilding the front wheel of my Husqvarna TE300 a man that certainly has a wealth of knowledge and the means to sort out a buckled spoke damaged wheel Would not hesitate to recommend to others and will no doubt be back I cannot thank him enough
