Campervans that didn t exist
We tried booking a camper van in Estonia but they were all sold out The only site with availability was Cooldrive-Nomad They had six Booking done and 1445 was blocked on the credit card They send you an email the next day stating they didn t have any left I have been waiting a week for my money to be released Do not book with them I tried again with a different username to book on the same days that they said were not available and they are still advertising as 8 campervans available Been a week and hold amount has not been released They blamed my bank UpdateThe camper vans that were available have now been removed from the website right after this review was posted Bank finally released the hold amount after 8 days after several phonecalls and emails They stated it was their policy to hold the amount for 21 days The camper vans are not guaranteed but the hold amount on your credit card is guaranteed

the company does not rent campers directly but only links you to local partners they perform no quality control on their partners in our case the car was in a terrible condition cooldrive nomade did not react up our complaints

This company makes errors and they are completely uncontactable
I had an emergency and rang contacted politely and tried to reach them through all of their forms of socialmedia and have also emailed them several times over many days This company is basically uncontactable All they do is take your money online the wrong amount they make errors and mistakes and then- nothing Sorry to say but I hate them

Bad booking system
I asked for a booking reservation for a motorhome that was available in the website and it was discounted on my debit card and one day later I was informed that motorhome wasn t available It was 5 days before today and I didn t have my refund in my card yet 2280 EUR

I see no reason to rent a car through Cooldrive
I have already written a review on the company that Cooldrive Nomad conveyed You can look up this rare case including pictures at Tripadvisor-Camper Travel Chile-Martin G The Sales Manager of Cooldrive M answered to our complaints that she is not obliged to 1 to look at reviews in the internet concerning the company she conveys CamperTravel Chile Out of 26 reviews 5 are rated horrible all customers complaints are dealing with the same issues stalling no replacement car or no car at all low maintainance no refund and zero respect towards customers 2 M is not obliged to check if the countries a customer chooses to drive are reachable which they were not in our case a border crossing from Chile to Peru with a rental car is not possible so she may sell you a trip to the moon with the car It s not her duty to check whether this is possible or not Every client is responsible for organizing his trip and ensuring its feasibility 3 She is not obliged to help a customer in any case of a problem So she did not give support in getting a replacement car she did not inform herself about any other possibility to cross the border to Peru other companies issue a notarial authorization for a colleague in Arica and he then drives across the border with the clients she did not help us in getting a full refund Actually she prevented a full refund 4 She is not obliged to inform herself about the agents she is dealing with The sales Manager of Camper Travel Chile S was terminated at his last company as he did not comply with company standards Cooldrive is dealing with Holiday Rental on a regular basis 5 M is not obliged to check the companies she is dealing with That is the customer s responsibility She writes You can do your research about them the rental company BEFORE booking at Cooldrive There is no way I may check the rental company before I sign and pay the contract with Cooldrive Simply because Cooldrive does not tell you till you pay6 She is not obliged to verify the arguments of the customer in this case just to check the pictures countless arguments readers cannot verify and videos We have sent her a dropbox link in the beginning verifying all our arguments Included is a video in which S of Camper Travel assures us of a full refund in the event of a second engine failure which happened 7 On the contrary when asked several times what she would do being in our shoes she said she would wait for another repair Counting the repairs already done in Calama leaking rooftop window loosened bench broken lights broken protection of fresh water tank the second engine repair would be the 4th repair all together 8 furthermore she seems to be obliged to indicate that the customer filled water in his own diesel tank paying voluntarily the car and full board at a hotel The car was standing 10 days at the mechanic no cooking no sleeping in the car possible 9 Cooldrive seems also to be obliged to indicate the customer voluntarily chose to interrupt his journey there was no reason for doing this I think that exactly in these rare cases when a car breaks down several times and you are forced to stay put for 10 days and you were treated badly and your holidays are ruined anyway one would need an intermediate to support you getting at least a full refund if not more We payed 6040 94 for 1 hours of driving AND had additional costs Obviously Cooldrive has a different opinion It sees no obligations at all for receiving a commission I see no reason to rent a car through Cooldrive

Avoid at all costs they will scam you out of money
I booked a vehicle through them and was supplied a vehicle by indie camper When I went to collect the camper it was dirty broken mirrors inside and had wires hanging down from the underside of the vehicle It was also smaller than booked They promised me a full refund but this was on the 4th of July Still waiting on the refund and now they ve stopped answering my emails Don t use this company To reply to answer I received It s was cool drive that promised a refund I still have not received it I am out approx 5500 from renting a new camper from Canadream excellent service by the way would highly recommend to a emergency air bnb for my family of six and taxis to and from indie campers Cool drive say they are not responsible but I paid them for the camper and didn t receive one If I paid a third party like booking or Expedia and there was no room when I arrived they would fix the problem In addition I did eventually receive a refund 42days and about 25 emails later Terrible customer service but all they were concerned about was I had used the word scam so to clarify I did get a refund after much pushing

Dissatisfied experience
We got given a Maui Camper Van with a lot of defects Maui Cape Town was kind enough to replace the van but the new van s geyser did not work and the water tank had a leak We were out in the middle of nowhere in a campsite without electricity and we were far away from a bathroom no hot water and a tap Also it was inconvenient to not be able to shower freezing cold weather They did send someone out to try and fix it but he could not do so It was also inconvenient to re-pack all our belongings 6 pax from one truck to the other It felt as if all our little break away was revolving around a camper van My experience was not great especially since we had guests from Durban and I would have thought Maui Cape Town would at least contact me today and release my holding deposit We left a message for the manager to contact us on Saturday when we dropped off the van This did have an impact on our trip and experience

Really a bad Camper Dirty Ready to go with no diesel and empty wather tank Wc broken electric recharging siatem broken No gps no fridge kitchen machine one fire Turning table seats broken What else Indi Camper ask me to go to fix the electric sistem to a Camper service 30 minutes far from Porto Was closed for vacation Never happen in my life all around the world
