Reported a fraud wish I hadn t Saw unauthorized transaction on my debit card Refused refund as contactless cannot be cloned and because there was another transaction after that so I must have made the purchase The lady on the phone suggested that someone stole my card then left in back in my wallet Muppetry This was something bought in a pub 40 minutes away 1 I was at home 2 Never been there 3 Card was in my wallet all the time Ludicrous customer service Computer says no Hours on the phone to be treated like a child Staffed by faulty robots Thank god it was only 17 hate to imagine what would have happened if it was hundreds Only bank here if you are in need of a laugh Case with financial ombudsman now

Dishonest with poor understanding of legislation
Best avoided if you need something more complicated from your bank than a bank transfer But you will They completely failed me I will be changing the bank and I do not recommend Danske Bank to anyone

Got off to a bad start when I opened
This bank tried to make me destitute because I didn t give them a specific standard of documentation which they weren t even going to check were authentic They said that they needed the documents because the FCA had asked them That wasn t truthful They were asked to identify the legislation including sections and paragraphs which they believe gave them the authority to ask for this additional information from an existing customer and prevent them from accessing their money and blocking all lawful transfers such as direct debits if the documentation was withheld To date all they have been able to specify is the FCA handbook C O B section 6 2 That section of a non legally binding handbook sadly refers to e-commerce They said that they would send a notice of account closure I m still waiting for that Even after they have informed me that they are issuing their closure notification they will not unblock my direct debits To date I ve now defaulted on my accommodation payments and life insurance Today the direct debit for my mobile phone will fail In a couple of days my pay cheque will fail to go into my account Within 10 days my car insurance will be in arrears That s the true face of The Northern Bank Danske Bank And yes I am leaving them

Worse than woeful
Got off to a bad start when I opened the account a few years ago I asked for an overdraft no problem I was told 8 months later and after countless requests I finally get it teething problems I thought NO now trying to alter a direct debit online thru their app you ll have better luck raising the dead I followed all of their instructions NOPE Still no luck am now looking around for a bank that actually helps their customers

Bank closed my account without warning
My local community group has a business account with the Portadown branch Without notice they froze the account Later it was learnt that was because of inactivity -obviously they haven t heard about Covid Paperwork was sent to change a signatory to the account 2 or 3 times-paperwork was lost No statements were received All the time the account was inaccessible they continued to impose monthly charges All we want to do now is close the account which cannot happen soon enough

Hopeless service for loyal customers
So Danske didn t send me a replacement debit card a few years ago fed up with current bank decided to try Danske again called them having made a test transfer to account was told pop into a branch with ID ok but your closed when I am out of work and your Belfast city center branch open Saturday but no counter service really so now I can t get my cash that s not legal surely withholding my access to my own cash plus you would have posting the debit card to my home address not really a good start not impressed If you do respond to reviews can anyone please help

After thirty years loyal customer service was refused a joint account with my wife as she had a england address with me N Ireland is part of the U K but Danske seems to treat it as a foreign country My wife needed to separate from me to get a N Ireland address to be considered Mad beyond belief further investigation by them confirmed what I wrote We need to separate to get a joint account

Terrible bank
If I could give zero stars I would Currently in a chain of 3 Danske Bank are our buyer s mortgage offer provider Our buyers have had 3 sales fall through via Purple bricks a whole other story Then finally a first time buyer offers We are 2 weeks from exchanging and completing Our buyer s mortgage offer expired on Sunday 4th June Will Danske bank extend Of course not This is now probably going to cause the whole chain to collapse It took them 2 weeks to come to this decision This scenario has been going on for a year A year that has caused the utmost stress on us and our family Shame on you Danske Bank AVOID AVOID AVOID

Terrible bank They have asked me to verify my source of funds 5 times now Every time I verify Im being asked to submit additional information Im all for anti money laundering but you guys are taking it WAY too far
