DAS will not pay Financial Ombudsman
DAS will not pay Financial Ombudsman final decision DAS insurance agreed with the terms of the financial ombudsman s terms in their final decision When the final decision was reached DAS did not like the amount of money they were told to pay This amount was high at 370k It was also justified because it was their fault that my wife lost her opportunity to take her former employer to tribunal This was going to be an eight day trial for discrimination heads DAS fully admitted liability They promised to pay my wife compensation for their mistakes A top London barrister did a year long quantum assessment DAS also agreed to this barrister and every term of the FOS arrangement in the final agreement It was only when the amount of money with grossing up of tax etc that DAS decided they were completely above the law They are trying now to take the reigns of the case and dictate what they want to happen The FOS said it would be reasonable for them to ask the barrister any clarification questions when the quantum was completed This clearly does say they can challenge anything DAS in their arrogance see it differently They feel they now have a right to review the entire case files The solicitor we had to use throughout the process was their very own selected top solicitor This lady had worked for DAS at the very top of their solicitors section We had to coordinate all our information through this solicitor onto the barrister We did not complain about this and just complied All our documents were reviewed before getting past onto the barrister for assessment Now DAS quite unbelievably want a second bite of the cherry They want to again review all those hundreds of documents They were given a period of twenty eight days initially to ask any clarification questions This was extended by seven days by advice of their solicitor The quantum assessment from the barrister was only nineteen pages long It was written in the extra large font It was fully absorbable within four days easily We then give another two week s extension of time on top of the thirty five days already lapsed We continued to ask for updates every single day and kept a log with evidence as a time frame They would not in any format respond to our requests for updates We contacted FOS three times to try and get a message to DAS to respond to our requests In the end it was their choice of solicitor that advised us to take enforcement action They then told this solicitor she was no longer needed on the case We therefore did not have any legal representation and had to try and log the enforcement action with no prior experience This was not easy and the forms bounced back from court on a couple of occasions Each time they went back into the court system they were back in a queuing system The 370 thousand should have been paid on the 24 11 22We are now in February with DAS showing absolutely no intention of paying the money They want to change the Financial ombudsman system which has adequately worked for years to suit their cases The vast majority of large finance companies pay what is a binding decision within a very quick timeframe DAS use the following term within their business model for advertising DAS first for justice In my wife s case it is DAS last for justice My wife is extremely poorly with PTSD brought on by this case It has now gone on for over four years She was told by all the experts involved in this case not to worry They told her that when the quantum assessment was completed the case would end All cases end at this point they said They told her she would then be able to move on from this terrible situation caused by DAS Don t forget DAS admitted full liability and said they would fully compensate my wife What they obviously really meant is they will compensate her if the amount calculated suited them There is no form of empathy towards my wife from DAS who now feels suicidal because there is no end in sight They are completely in fight mode They are not remotely interested in how much psychological further damage they do to her I read the reviews from other people whose lives have been impacted by DAS insurance

I wish I had read before these reviews Unfortunately I trusted ING Bank and got the Rechtsbijstand through them I resonate with all 1 star reviews and if possible I will come back to change hopefully In my specific case they assigned me Mr F B a lawyer who refused to speak English and couldn t get the whole point of my case behaving like a representative of the opposite part Awful feeling and zero people skills nor service oriented Spent hours on hold with KlantenService trying to reach out what they call a Team Leader but they were either in meetings all of them either on holiday and asked me for one of them to come back so he could look into my request of assistance with someone capable of speaking modest business English Having to let them notice that during intake they mentioned experience with expats and Eng speakers in the team They seem not able to meet deadlines and definitely not delivering when it comes to call you back I really feel for their KS agents that need to deal with all these lost clients and still they show kindness and patience and try to do their best to find someone with answers within the company A trompe l oeil facade to cover the derelict behind They didn t even start on my case and I m already hopeless This disservice is technically a SCAM scheme

Huge disappointment
I can not even put in words how much I am disappointed in this company They have my case since January In this period I have got the 3 representative and all of them what have done is only studying the case The 3 said he takes the case but he goes for holiday Seriously It sims they just do not care All of them get paid but got done nothing Is it how companies are treating theirs client The people who pays theirs salary I am curious how would they feel if they would be the one how is just been throwing around between representative if it would be about theirs life I think they do not worry about the clients mental health because they got paid no matter what The quality of a company have been created via theirs workers It seems all of it is really low

Not interested in actually supporting a clinet
I needed help from the insurance and the lawyer was not interested in my case was not sure about the information provided wrong information and didn t get back to correct it I found it later myself After my call to the insurance company and realising that they won t be of hlep the lawyer from the DAS insurance just got back to me to ask whether they can close the case

Complaints handling investigation lacked integrity Luckily I recorded calls for my protection
We have had an extremely bad experience with DAS Legal Expenses By this I mean the legal expenses insurance company not the law firm DAS Law Both these organisations are getting reviews under this listing so I think it is important to distinguish which business I am reviewing DAS Legal Expenses chosen panel solicitor ceased acting suddenly citing an own-interest conflict because I informed the partner of my concerns over the solicitor s conduct in preparing for court proceedings The evidence of what that particular solicitor had done was all in writing on their files for the partner to see for themselves And just to be clear this panel solicitor firm was not DAS Law but another of the very few solicitor panel firms that DAS Legal Expenses work with DAS Legal Expenses have then wasted months delaying getting us new legal representation whilst our case which is in litigation and on a strict timetable is severely threatened by DAS complete lack of urgency in their actions When it became apparent they were being extremely slow to get another solicitor on board in a very urgent situation they offered to process a complaint I took them up on this as nothing else seemed to be getting them moving However they were sure to then take the maximum time allowed 8 weeks before sending me a response which came up with a completely different story on why we lost our solicitor to make me look unreasonable but the customer complaints manager s recount of events bore no relation to what I had experienced or discussed with DAS and what DAS claims team had acknowledged and discussed with me The main things I have learned from this which I hope will help others are 1 Make sure you record all calls with DAS Legal Expenses Although they say they record all calls and you can request recordings what I have found is that the critical calls which you need to prove what has really happened don t always get sent Luckily for me I learned this from past experience of them so this time I recorded the critical call along with many others so I have the comfort of having my own record of the true events I could do this because they say at the start of their calls calls may be recorded so it is perfectly legal to record the calls Just make sure you get that permission recorded at the start of your call and stop them to ask them for permission if you dont hear it said The important part of a critical call was not provided by DAS when I received call recordings I had requested They had cut it short Therefore they probably thought they could get away with giving a different recount of events as there would be no evidence Bad luck DAS I recorded the full call including the part of my call you had excluded from your recording 2 The other thing I have learned is that it can be extremely difficult to move solicitor with DAS Legal Expenses even after proceedings are issued You are supposed to have freedom of choice then but they made it very difficult to move when we wanted to after I informed them I had concerns about how the case was being handled by their chosen panel solicitor Eventually the solicitor dumped us for reasons that were not our fault but theirs and were linked with the very poor service that should have rang alarm bells with DAS if they monitored their panel solicitors like they claim to do Since then DAS have compromised our case by leaving us without legal representation and advice for months whilst the other side takes advantage of this Given it was their own panel solicitor that badly let us down you d think they would have moved quickly to plug the gap with another legal representative wouldn t you But no they have strung us along for months I have also discovered they seem to have a vested interest of some sort in the other side s case too which leaves me wondering to what extent they are engineering things to suit themselves Based on my experience of DAS Legal Expenses I don t think First for justice is the right slogan for them

Soo slow at landlord insurance claim
Soo slow at landlord insurance claim review and they re horribly slow at responding which lead me to having to make pay outs rather than using insurance and they re hugely understaffed so they respond after only various attempts at getting in touch AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Worst Experience ever and avoid at all
Worst Experience ever and avoid at all costs Made a claim for Property Repossession in July 2023 They have been holding time wasting for nearly 1 year Now they are saying they cant go ahead with the claim because they made a mistake by not checking the name spelling correctly on the Gas Safety Certificate Sheer incompetency Shut Down your shop asap
