Pathetic Service and False Promises
They called me and offered me a free dbs super card which I never needed but they kept pressing on it and the fact that it is a completely free card I still never used it I never even set the atm pin After a year they unreasonably charged an anuual fee complaints to which were only received after multiple calls and email However they took so long to respond and reverse the amount that it got an additional late fee and it s been again 2-3 months that I have been calling them again and again to reverse the charges and close the card and they always ask me to wait for 5-7 business days and nothing ever gets resolved They are not closing the card nor reversing the amount The customer service is pathetic and so frustrating to go back and forth to get one simple task done Never get their card or be a part of this bank

The branch I am talking about is the Singapore branch and the app related This is the worst bank app I have ever encountered It took me an hour to set up the initial registration even with the help of the relation manager Even with the help of the relationship manager after an hour I still cannot register Not to mention that I have already spent one and a half hour staying in the bank in person to set up the bank account It is totally absurd to spend another hour just to sign in some thing that have already been done in person in the bank I think the IT department should completely revolve in order to improve that service of this app

Very disappointed with Dbs handling on Treasure account holders from unlimited access for private lounge limousine serviceDrop to 4 times a year Worse is no notification at all even terminate the joint account holders without informing Only realised when we visited the lounge realised that you cannot enter the lounge Such a great disappointment

Irresponsible behavior
Dear Sir Madam My name is Mohamed Ibrahim I am 15 years customer in your purasaiwakkam branch and I have a gold jewellery stored securely with your bank Currently I am working overseas and unable to return to India to collect the jewells For this reason I authorized my mother to collect it on my behalf However it has been over one months since my mother first attempted to retrieve the jewells During this period the bank staff has been consistently rude to her and has failed to provide clear answers or guidance regarding the gold jewells Today my mother senior citizen 70 years old waiting in your bank in 6 hours for loan closer This behavior is unacceptable and if it continues I will be forced to escalate the matter to the authorities This type of staffs is shame on your bank and damage ur bank name That staffs name is kalpana and others alsoSincerely Mohamed Ibrahim

Theft merchants
I wanted to purchase an item from a company in Hong Kong and I had to do a US money transfer to their DBS Bank Hong Kong Branch I followed their instructions to the letter I used a well known and respected foreign exchange company to do the transfer and the transfer was successful - up until DBS decided to question the transfer on grounds that I still don t understand DBS refused to let the transfer proceed After much to and fro it took me a month to get my money back and in the process DBS extracted US 150 in what I guess were fees No explanation was given for the loss of funds It s as if they just stole the money So I will never ever send any money to a DBS bank account again Just woeful

DBS is a very bad banking institution wherein my money has been frozen for vague reasons - no due diligence followed at the time of opening the account and after 6 months they are running around for various documents holding on to my money

Very poor customer service Charges for teller to receive deposit and issue receipts Do not even have envelope to provide customers to put cash in Teller not customer friendly Can wait for an hour just to deposit a check or money or get issue addressed Central bank location is poorly staffed resulting long wait for customers

Terrible service from the Relationship Manager Without going into details the service is terrible the APP is terrible and there are so many hidden charges you have to pay for And after reading comment in Trustpilot I m not surprised that the senior management of DBS are blinded DBS should make honest money and not this way After nearly more than 40 years as a customer of DBS its time to search for a safe honest reliable and friendly bank

Non Transparent mortgage pricing to existing borrows
Non Transparent in mortgage pricing to existing borrowers I will like to caution borrowers of their mortgage As a Temasek-linked bank with 28 equity stake in DBS how DBS coerced their mortgage customers in repricing their mortgage loan In early Sept I received a letter my 2 years fixed term loan at 2 75 will expire on 16th Oct 24 It will be charged at 5 1 wef 17th Oct based on 3 months SORA 1 5 A repricing team called me on 13th Sept to offer me 3 3 fixed for 2 years As the US Fed was about to announce rate cut on 18th Sept US time I enquired about when would the bank reprice their offerings The officer R mentioned 23th Sept The Fed announced rate cut of not 25 basis point but instead a bigger quantum at 50 basis point On 24th Sept when I called their mortgage repricing they offered me 2 88 if I also reprice my other HL Term Loan 2 which I have the rights for 1x repricing after locking in a 2 years fixed in Nov 23 If I were to reprice only the term loan that is due they would charge me near peak of 3 3 which is the highest fixed rate before Fed cut I checked mortgage portals like SingSaver Redbricks DBS is offering 2 8 fixed rate for 2 years if a customer refinance with them from other banks As you all know the world led by the US underwent a rate hikes cycle in the past 2 years from near zero to 5 5 Many borrowers suffered high interest rates in the past 2 years Now that the tide has started to pivot towards a rate cut cycle they are trying to exploit on poor mortgagers like us who does not own an investment property to lock in high interest rates over the next 2 years when the interest rate will be dropping this year next Thereby denying us the rights to enjoy lower interest rates over the next two years To all mortgagers out there if you are considering to gear up a term loan it may be wiser to synchronize your existing housing loan s lock-in period with the new term loan especially if the new loan is only a small amount otherwise for whatever the reasons you needed the fund DBS will exploit you to the maximum unreasonably regardless of the market interest rates environment like the experience I have just encountered It actually carry themselves in very bad faith with Piyush Gupta departing a home grown first female CEO Ms Tan Su Shan is assuming the helm early next year
