Really bad experience I ll never order from here again Customer service is a joke

Terrible Customer Service - BANNED FROM DIGIKEY

Ordered an item that was on backorder When the date came around it was supposed to ship I logged into their website and it still showed Pending for a status I figured no big deal probably just running a bit late Fast forward a couple days I login again and it now shows Cancelled Voided I immediately contacted customer service via live chat They told me that paypal denied the payment and they tried to email me twice For starters theres nothing wrong with my paypal account I use it daily without any problems whatsoever Second I never received any kind of communication that there was an issue with my payment I checked my spam trash etc no emails indicating any kind of problem plenty of marketing emails though those seem to come in waves The only email I found that somewhat lines up with the dates they said they sent an email on was an empty template email that said verbatim the lines of Dear name You would place your rich text here Obviously someone forgot to fill out the details here On top of that the item i ordered is now on backorder for the next year They offered me zero resolution to this or even admitted that they made a mistake Instead after a heated conversation with one of their support supervisors Josh they banned me from using their service in the future I have never in my life experience such terrible customer service Its not even about the order its about how they handled the whole situation If they would have just say Sorry we messed up I probably wouldnt be leaving this review Ya ll need to do better the reviews here on trustpilot are pretty obvious to that point UPDATE 5 19 2022 After opening a BBB complaint regarding my experience I was contacted by a representative from Digikey They apologized for the poor experience and admitted that they were having issues with their internal email system which explained why I did not get any emails regarding the payment issue They overnighted me the item I ordered free of charge so at least their retention department is on point

Pretending to be UK based but it s not you have to pay import taxes to the UK AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

You pay DDP incoterms but get CPT and big problems on customs

Beware of DigiKey s non compliance with the contracted incoterms When you buy from Europe through digikey dot de digikey dot es or the other fake local branches all of them just aliases of digikey dot com at 204 221 76 76 you secure DDP incoterms by paying in Euros so prices include a hefty premium to cover duties and customs DigiKey also collects VAT on behalf of the European authorities But AFTER PAYMENT DigiKey violates the terms of the contract by sending the package under CPT incoterms so the taxes duties and customs you paid evaporate and you are stuck in customs forced to pay twice It is impossible to solve the problem by writing to customer support and providing the evidences of the contracted terms screenshots their own webpage because you can only contact AI chatbots clumsily posing as humans with the intelligence of a frog and the rudeness of a gorilla The current ChatGPT technology can write convincing text even haiku but it doesn t understand what DDP incoterms means Or maybe it doesn t understand what written contract means Not to mention alleged misappropriation of taxes duties and customs I will never buy again from DigiKey but they will keep abusing innocent makers until we stops them Just browse their Trustpilot page activating all languages to see the horrifying experiences reported from France Germany Spain Now our only hope are the legal enforcement actions of the European authorities We are providing them with all the evidence so they can verify the alleged misappropriation of the taxes duties and customs collected on their behalf and use the international courts to recover the money and stop this scam

If i could give zero stars i would Wasted 1 5 hours trying to do an order leading to a rude phone call with a customer rep avoid at all costs Go to mouser instead you won t be dissapointed

Terrible customer service

I made an error called them ONE MINUTE after placing the order but they didn t want to cancel it They just preferred to grab my money for that order but lost a customer forever

Prices a 16GB micro SD card at 29 and

Prices a 16GB micro SD card at 29 and blames you for the error in thinking that you would be receiving more than one Nobody in their right mind would pay that much for ONE 16GB micro SD card Websites like Staples and Best Buy charge way less for the same thing and better brands at that Will never shop with them again

Nonexistent customer service

It s impossible to contact them by phone the number given is always busy They didn t reply back to email There are hidden cost they didn t show you before the order Worse shop ever

Rude and unhelpful

Digi-key has an extensive inventory of just about every variation of electrical component you may need and a good search engine on the web I ve had a good experience with the parts I ve ordered over the last 20 years I draw the line however with having to be verified as an active customer every time I call in to ask a simple question about a part and have a representative go out of her way to be excessively rude Hard to understand how an organization can have a first line employee acknowledge that I should buy my parts somewhere else
