Home lies about previous owners AVOID
I thought this place was a great place to take my old dog to be rehomed I was wrong Here is some backstory I used to own a dog called Poppy A beautiful dog she was Unfortunately she took a disliking to my at the time just walking baby niece We made the decision to take her to be rehomed after she began snapping and snarling at my niece Since my niece is over a lot and we had neither time or funds on our side we thought it be in Poppy s best interest for her to go to a dog home Our thoughts were she would be trained to not snap or snarl at infants or she would go to someone who doesn t have infants We looked at the Facebook page daily to see if our Pops had found a home A month later she did and we were thrilled This is where things take a turn This year a good few years after our Pops was in her new home we found the current owner My sister found a disturbing post that the owner posted on Instagram Her post was a picture of Pops It stated her disbelief at how anyone could hurt her Going on to say how she was beaten and neglected My sister and I both contacted her and she blocked us both Who would you believe though A dog s home or the people the home have told this girl that beat her and neglected her I have tried contacting the home via Facebook An automated response was all I got stating I ll be responded to It s now been a week I gave them the chance to explain I find it absolutely disgusting that lies are told about the old owners of dogs there Presumably they are creating sob stories to get dogs adopted faster A disgusting thing to do Beware of this home

Information not correct
After ringing up and being told on the automated message they were open to the public we went only to find they aren t We were told you have to apply for a dog via the website how can you tell if you want a dog this way They say it s because the dogs get stressed with visitors I would ve thought it would be good for them to see the public I understand though some will be anxious I have rescued two dogs previously and I cannot see the benefit of the post Covid system Luckily as fate would have it we went to a different home and are now in line to get a beautiful staffie I feel for those dogs at Manchester and Cheshire who could have so many more chances if the general public could view them

In my opinion the Staff do an Amazing job
In my opinion the Staff do an Amazing job Especially given pressure they are under With the growing trend of hybrid designer dogs that so called pet breeders and puppy farms pet shops are charging extortionate prices for yet have no clue what they are doing or what they are breeding when that lovable fluffy non moulting pup grows up and starts shedding and ends up with a list of vet bills caused by poor breeding genetics its places like Manchester dogs home who have to step in save these animals I think it s right that they are careful and have such strict rehoming policies if they didn t and that animal came back 9 times out of 10 that animals place has already gone I ve volunteered at a few rescue centres over the years and people who have been moaning and posting negative reviews about the rehoming policies should go and volunteer for a day

I highly recommend this charity
I highly recommend this charity Gary and Michelle really listen to what you are looking for from your pet and are very careful to match you with exactly what you are looking for If you need support from the team they are ready to give advice My beautiful dog is 5 and he s been with me just a week and I couldn t have wished for a dog anymore well mannered funny and totally adorable I call him Archie and in a week he s walked miles and let me bath him and clean his teeth I can t thank the team at Dogsnhomes enough for finding Archie for me They are very selective about dogs they choose in Portugal and if others are like my Archie you too will be extremely pleased

The reviews are not all for the same
The reviews are not all for the same Charity and there is confusion over who is being rated Dogs Homes is not a registered Charity and there is no record of where they are based DogsnHomes are a registered Charity and are based in Fleet Hampshire They are a foster based rescue and therefore do not have a premises for people to visit They have excellent 5 star reviews on Google and this is a more reliable place to ensure there is no confusion about people s experiences It would appear that Dogs Homes is trying to piggy back on the back of a reputable Charity
