August Bank Holiday Sunday

We visited The Ashley Park - Walton on Thames over the August Bank Holiday weekend My sister in law lives in Weybridge and we stop in the Travelodge next door The pub is ideal for drinks and good food and always has a great friendly atmosphere However on the Sunday my wife and I ordered a few meals because our family were joining us to sample their delights They always have generous offers on the drinks menu too and we ve always found the staff very polite and friendly The food was amazing to say the least but my wife had a choking episode with some of her Steak that had gone down the wrong way Incidentally it had nothing to do with the outstanding food Anyway after she started to choke the assistant manager - Gareth appeared from nowhere He calmly and politely took over the whole situation being a first aider Within a few seconds which seemed like hours to me and my concerned family Gareth calmly performed an abdominal thrust Luckily for my wife - the piece of Steak she was choking on got dislodged and she could breathe normally again Gareth who was very concerned asked my wife if she was okay and did she need 111 assistance However she confirmed that wasn t required and he sat her down and reassured her things would be okay We were all distressed obviously - but Gareth s calm and cool approach definitely saved my wife from choking We can t thank him enough and praise all round for his lifesaving technique - BRAVO Also I must say the food we had was amazing despite the ordeal Daniel the waiter was ever so polite and friendly and he too was very concerned about my wife Again when we return to Walton - we ll be visiting the Ashley Park for sure and hoping to bump into Gareth to buy him another drink or 3

A pleasant place to spend your time nothing is too much trouble the bar staff females in particular are attentive and customer focused service is always of the highest quality food is very good with a wide variety of choice overall as a consumer a very good experience in a beautiful old Victorian building of history
