Frauds and Scam artist

I left my employer and cashed out mt retirement Paid the 40 extra to have my check sent within 2 days I go to cash my check and can t because the Walmart and kroger check cashing are unable to verify the check I attempt to place it in my account and my banks notified me that they are also unable to verify the check and to not attempt to deposit it again When I called Empower to talk about it I got told that my bank was supposed to call them to verify the account Umm That is NOT how that works The account is supposed to already be good and verified otherwise they would not have sent me a check Now I am on hold while they try to figure out there mix up meanwhile I am out of my money that I paid into

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service they transferred me SIX times before they could get me to the right person to do a rollover into Empower They could not understand what should be a very standard transaction - makes me very nervous about my money and I wish my employer had another vendor

Empower keeps telling me the retirement

Empower keeps telling me the retirement is being deposited the next day no deposit I call next day no deposit etc Terrible customer service Their website is outdated wrong days hours of operation Constantly have to reauthenticate every time you call then a couple of times while on the call only to be lied to Terrible reviews on BBB as well guess that is where I am going next

My company rolled into empower after

My company rolled into empower after empower brought up the retirement company we used to be on Nightmare started after I found out the fee was horrible and they are charging more than the fee we used to be with previous company I brought it with our administration and we finally changed it to principal My 40B has grown ever since then Please do not use this company if you are individual investor If you company enroll with empower Good luck

I ve been trying to get access to my deferred comp for some time now The hardship request is 12 pages and apparently my hardships don t fall under what they ve listed as appropriate anyway So I asked for a copy of my contract because I NEVER would have signed up for this knowing they were going to keep my money like this They said no How can you not give me a copy of my own contract

All I want to do is Rollover my Funds

I ve been at a several different jobs over the past 5-6 years Never have I had such difficulty taking a 401k from an employer I am no longer with and rolling the funds into an external account aka Rollover IRA These a hats make it as difficult as possible I can t even get my account numbers from their website I don t know crap about this company other than they paid a fortune to be named on the Broncos Stadium But if you have to work that hard to keep people on your platform you probably have something to hide

Failure to complete a rollover request - Avoid Empower Retirement

Same as other people are stating it has been more than two months and three calls to try to get my money for a rollover to another money manager Supposedly it takes 7 business days for the process I am not sure what Empower is up to or are they just incapable of completing a simple rollover disbursement Are they holding folk s money into a temporary account What exactly is happening that they are not able to mail a check successfully for a rollover

I m facing eviction I did all necessary steps to fill out documents and proof of eviction notice rent ledger Fax and upload it has been 2 weeks they claim Ineligible forms and 2 out 8 employees claim They ask for notarized were I did it twice and still said it s no good So I have given up and now looking to live in my car

They always leave you on hold and never

They always leave you on hold and never come back when they don t understand your questions This has happened 3 times and you would think since the calls are recorded they should be evaluated on their calls Poor service I ve been on hold for more than 20 minutes and I screen recorded the call for proof

Empower retirement is absolutely

Empower retirement is absolutely dreadful I tried rolling funds over from Empower to Fidelity and they ve completely screwed it up Then when you call them they will lie about what has transpired Absolutely an awful company If you are working for an employer that wants to invest your 401 in Empower try to figure out another option
