NOT Recycling GREENWASHING
Clothes Bin advertises and markets itself as a clothing and shoes recycling company They often have big green bins in business church and school parking lots for you to recycle your old clothing and shoes The company provides little to no information on the actual recycling of the textiles so I reached out via their social media page and asked a couple questions regarding how and where the clothes were being recycled The company response was to block me from the social media page After having my emails and phone calls ignored I decided to get online and find out everything I could about this company Clothes Bin Fill the Bins is NOT a recycling company they essentially do not even touch the recovered materials This is a FOR PROFIT company that sells ALL recovered textiles to 3rd party companies After that sale takes place Clothes Bin has nothing to do with those recovered textiles Which means that they have no idea what ends up happening to all those textiles These 3rd party companies could have them burnt sent to a landfill or dumped in the ocean Clothes bin has zero idea what actually happens to the clothes and there s no way to know if any of the clothes will ever be recycled This is NOT a recycling company This is a for profit GREENWASHING campaign that misleads people into thinking all the clothes they put in the bin are being recycled They are blatantly taking advantage of good people trying to do the right thing and dispose of used textiles responsibly If you put your clothes in these bins there s a high probability they will end up as trash
