AWFUL
Ordered a birthday cake as I have been to their Fulham branch and the cakes have been great The cake received was SO DRY and poorly iced it was also meant to have sprinkles throughout the cake funfetti but there was about 10 sprinkles throughout the whole cake I complained of course and was advised due to supplies they didn t have sufficient supplies and was refunded 18 bare in mind I paid 75 for this cake They also said they couldn t judge the cake texture as they didn t have it in front of them you could see in the picture it was over baked and dry It looked like it was iced by a 10 year old and I was informed the pictures on the site are for illustration purposes only and as it is a complex cake it might vary from this the cake has different coloured icing as a base and white icing on top of it if this is what they call complex NONE of their bakers should enter any kind of competitions Birthday was ruined and the refund was a slap in the face quite frankly Flavourtown will NEVER see me again

AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT DON T WASTE YOUR MONEY
I ve never had to write a bad review before but this HAS to be said The cake arrived on-time and looked presentable Not exactly like the photo on the website apparently that s only for illustration purposes So beware the cake you order isn t necessarily the cake you receive Fast forward to Birthday presentation candles and the cutting of the cake Upon slicing the cake is handed round with great aplomb However Heart-breaking disappointment What A LET-DOWN The cake was sooo dry AND it was burnt all around the outside clearly visible after slicing Overcooked overmixed too much flour It was indigestible I don t know when the layers were made but there was no moisture to the sponge at all Awful awful dry texture and inedible Even the icing was poorly glazed tasteless I cannot think what Flavourtown Bakery were thinking of to allow this to happen After a payment of 75 So Flavourtown Bakery are very aware that there was an issue with the cake but refuse to offer a full refund Offered a paltry 18 Do yourselves a favour to avoid HUGE disappointment give this Bakery a massive swerve RUN DON T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Avoid avoid avoid
Avoid avoid avoid Ordered 6 inch White Chocolate and Raspberry Birthday Cake with hand piped message Cost over 60 It tasted horrible The sponge was dense and unpleasant No idea what the buttercream was but I d be amazed if it had come within a mile of actual butter And the only white chocolate noticeable was a few buttons dotted around the outside We complained but the customer service team weren t really interested They said it was an American style cake that had been made as part of a batch and nobody else had complained so they weren t prepared to offer any compensation other than 10 off a future order I used to work in a bakery I ve eaten great cakes and bad cakes This was the worst cake I ve ever paid for Asda would have been better They also claim to use the finest ingredients The only nice thing I can say is that the raspberries on top were fresh

Butter Cream is Awful Sponge Dry
I ordered a Pride Ultimate Rainbowgasm Cake for 95 In summary the buttercream was AWFUL and made all my guests feel sick as it tasted entirely of butter Also the sponge was very DRY The cake looked good but the colours were very DULL compared to the pictures on their website I drove an hour each way to collect the cake from their bakery in NW10 When I wrote to FLAVOURTOWN on the same day with feedback they told me I was wrong and that they had already had several reorders for the same cake from that day They said the only way they would consider any gesture of goodwill was if I took a slice of cake back to their baker I declined This company is very arrogant in their communications and the taste of their cakes was awful The cake does come in a lovely box and is quite unique and colourful but I was gutted that I made my guests feel sick

An incredibly stressful experience
I placed an order for a 10 unicorn rainbow cake and 36 cupcakes for a 4 years old s birthday party On the morning of the party we were due to collect the cakes at 10am so they were in place for the 10 30am start At 7 46am we received an email saying that there had been a power cut at the factory overnight so the cakes would not be ready but would be delivered to the Fulham Store as soon as possible The customer support team were not open until 10am but I requested a call back ASAP I spoke to the Head of Customer Services to explain that we needed the cakes for 10 30am and she said she would liaise with the driver I received no update and after chasing several times I was eventually informed that the driver was on his way and the cakes would be dropped off directly to the party venue by 11 30am Initially this was a relief and meant we didn t have to find a last-minute alternative However 11 30am came and went with no sign of the cakes I chased again and after much back and forth with the Head of Customer Services who had to contact the driver and then call me back I was informed that the driver was delayed I was initially told he was stuck in traffic but would still make it in time but by 12 15pm he had still not arrived After calling again I was told that the cupcakes had been in the Fulham Store all along and asked that these be sent to the party venue so the children had something to celebrate with At around 12 40pm I was told that the driver with the Unicorn Cake was in fact nowhere near the party venue and would not make it before 1pm when the party ended I was also informed that the cupcakes had not been sent from the Fulham store as they were not picking up the phone in the branch This was an extremely stressful and chaotic experience I was on the phone email to Flavourtown over the course of 6 hours This could have been rectified simply and efficiently by sending a replacement cake from one of your shops your website states you have some cakes in both Fulham and Richmond rather than consistently being provided with inaccurate information and false promises After the party I was told the cakes could be delivered at 4pm I asked for a reduced price for the order but was told that as only the best ingredients for the cakes are used only a 15 reduction would be offered We obviously no longer needed a 10 unicorn rainbow cake and 36 cupcakes for a family of 5 so cancelled the order altogether Whilst I was sympathetic to the power cut the handling of the situation and the customer service I received was appalling If I had received accurate information at 10 30am 11 30am and 12 15pm I could have planned the day differently and found a replacement cake before or even during the party The whole process was extremely stressful upsetting and frustrating not to mention an unnecessary waste of everyone s time The order should have been given free of charge alongside a compensation voucher as a minimum being offered a reduced price of 15 for an order was totally inappropriate

I ordered 2 dozen mini cupcakes from here they looked great and fun in the picture but what I got looked nothing like what was advertised in the picture I called customer services to advise of this and they were really not at all helpful and quite frankly not bothered and told me the box is based on what the baker selects that day The box advertised looks bright and fun all we got were vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles along with really bad customer service Really disappointing and false advertising Definitely do not recommend

Exploding cakes Poor
Lots of good experiences here but this time ordered a whole cake which had to be Vegan due to the flavour Well although good when leaving by the time it reached home a few minutes away via a particularly careful journey it looked like a bomb had erupted in the middle of it The whole thing had simply fallen apart from the middle in a big heap Utterly unusable Their customer service team simply stated that it was their usual recipe and that was the end of it Nice cakes - but I d struggle to recommend a place with this sort of customer service and cakes that explode during transportation
