Ticket cancellation 16 hours before the ride
This was the first time I booked FlixTrain Kassel to Berlin Well just 16 hours before my journey I received an email stating that my ride is cancelled The choice of word was careful as I thought the train was cancelled first but it seems like they have just cancelled my seat maybe oversold seats maybe some other reason They only offer a refund or rebooking through their website which basically does not provide me any reasonable options Now I will have to book DB for 100 euros instead of 30 euros which I could book for the same ticket 10 days ago e g the time I booked my FlixTrain ticket

Delay with no communication
Over 2 hour delay with no information about the delay The app showed that the train is running normally The only source of information for the delay was the display at the train platform which showed first 30 mins then 1 hour 1 5 hours and finally 2 hour delay before the train arrived with a 2 5 hour delay Worst experience I had with a train ride so far even worst than Deutsche Bahn

Booked months ago to travel from Stuttgart to Berlin for the Berlin Marathon and the train was cancelled with just 4hrs notice
Booked months ago to travel from Stuttgart to Berlin at 07 17 on Friday 23rd Sept for the Berlin Marathon taking place on Sunday 25th Sept I checked the day before all looked good for my booking I received a we re looking forward to welcoming you on our train e-mail the day before I woke up at 5am on the Friday morning and checked my e-mails at 1am I had received an e-mail from FlixTrain to inform me they were sorry but the train was cancelled no explanation as to why I was offered to re-book another train for another date time free of charge have a voucher or a refund Luckily we have a car so embarked on the 7hr drive from Stuttgart to Berlin I tried to request the refund online it gave me a full refund for the cancelled outward train but was charging me 6 euro fee to cancel the return train which I was obviously not happy about I have been in contact with them to request a full refund with no fees take off they have replied to say they will provided a full refund hopefully I will receive this soon I have had e-mails to say they are sorry for the inconvenience and they are sure this was just a one-off incident I had another friend doing the Berlin Marathon who was travelling on the Stuttgart to Berlin train on Saturday 24th September his train was also cancelled with just a few hours notice he was almost going to have to cancel his Berlin Marathon place as the DeutscheBahn train ticket was now super expensive at such short notice when FlixTrain did then agree to pay the cost of his DeutscheBahn train ticket I met a girl in the queue for race pack pick up at the Berlin Marathon and she was supposed to travel from Stuttgart to Berlin with FlixTrain on Thursday 22nd Sept her train was also cancelled with just a few hours notice So I can confidently say that my cancellation was not a one-off and FlixTrain have let down a great number of customers this past weekend

I had an absolutely terrible experience
I had an absolutely terrible experience with FlixTrain The app provided zero useful information such as the platform details which caused me to miss my train To make matters worse when I reached out to customer service for help canceling my ticket they were unhelpful and completely indifferent to the situation It felt like they didn t care about their passengers at all This lack of organization and support is unacceptable I won t be booking with FlixTrain again

Terrible train service but very good customer service
Got long delays two days in a row between Berlin and Hamburg But the customer service people were very quick in responding especailly in helping me to get cash refund instead of just a voucher I booked a set of return tickets from Berlin to Hamburg in mid September on Trainline mainly for the timetable that suits me I later noticed that they were much cheaper than the other operators on the trip going to Hamburg the train arrived late and then it stopped in the middle of nowhere for 30 minutes The nightmare continued and got worse on the return trip to Berlin when the train was late again for 30 minutes and then stopped at Stendal Hbf for more than 40 minutes for no reasons at the beginning Then everyone was asked to leave the train wiithout their luggage That was around 2pm No reason was given we were told we could get back on train soon After 30 minutes some staff from Flix began to ask us to consider alternative travel arrangements We decided to get another train and could only find the next one leaving at 3 35pm We took that train as we did not want to gamble anymore Twice in 2 days cannot be coincidence Since the delay on the second day was really unreasonable FlixBus agreed for a refund At the beginning they offered a voucher but I requested a cash refund The overall customer service was satisfactory and professional which was the reason I edited the review to reflect what happened in a fairer way

Great experience from Hamburg-Duisburg
Great experience from Hamburg-Duisburg Clean punctual and very comfortable train I ignored the other reviews and it was definitely the right decision especially for the price
