Do NOT trust footman James with your
Do NOT trust footman James with your classic car I used their approved accident repair centre halo and have received my 1968 bus back in an unroadworthy condition with wiring for my indicators left dangling no bulb fitted and no bulb holder to fit one too as they used the original that was damaged when I hit a deer As a result of the dangling wires I have a blown flasher relay and blown fuses an earth was taped to the back of the front panel and the work is generally just shoddy

Quote filling-in their online form an utter waste of time
I worked through their online form only to be presented with the result Unfortunately we are unable to offer you a quote online and given a phone number to call them No chance They re not going to waste my time then expect me to chase them afterwards

Absolutely disgusted
Absolutely disgusted this company does not recognise its loyal customers I have been with Footman James with a number of classic vehicles over the years They cancelled my insurance and told me they had informed me by post to which I never received anything The funny thing is the same vehicle has been insured for the past 3 years already without any issue No apology nothing So I asked for a new quote and they said they would call me back sometime Pushed to the side just like a number This is very disappointing behaviour from Footman James I shall shop elsewhere avoid this disloyal company like the plague you have been warned

You Couldn t Make It Up
Used this company for a few years and as expected the cost rises each year I have a classic multi bike policy and was amazed that by taking 2 off and putting 1 on the price increased Even more amazing is there is a discount for being a member of a Owners or Enthusiasts Club however after leaving the Triumph owners club and joining the Francis Barnett Club this increases the cost by 99 They gave no explanation as to if this is because it makes me a worse driver or my bikes are less secure

Awful company who do not let you cancel your insurance and continue to tsjynoney off you even if you no longer have the vehicle Avoid brokers like this at all costs they only care about ripping people off

took 1 year to pay out a claim
took 1 year to pay out a claim even though didnt have any claims ever before and been a customer since about 10 years Now at renewal they messed me about for 5 days didnt even get back to me had to follow up with emails only to be told they cant renew the policy at the last minute

Terrible online system
Have been a customer for many years have to say their renewal system and online portal is rubbish Spent ages trying to work out how to pay online which their screen says you can do Eventually called them and they confirmed you cant pay online Clearly they are happy to waste their customers time

Policy Cancellation
I sold my car and although I was only 7 months into my policy FJ informed me that I would not be entitled to any of my money back as I had been with them less than a year They don t make you aware of this fact

I have been a customer for many years My experience as follows - very expensive in my case a like for like FJ insurance policy is 3 x times more expensive than the market average - FJ only offer policies via Ageas and simply act as a broker Good look with trying to make any sort of claim with Ageas As a single broker of Ageas there is no chance of competition in respect of price service or value - Non fault accident caused an substantial increase in renewal unfair and Ageas unwilling to consider costs incurred due a non fault accident should be included in any reasonable settlement FJ unhelpful - FJ Ageas conflict of interest in respect of settling claims they will screw you over leaving you out of pocket - No customer service or assistance so no value in paying their hiked premiums - Don t be fooled by the high number of Feefo reviews they are invite only from FJ Trustpilot offers a far clearer picture of FJ Do yourself a favour and buy insurance via a reliable broker or provider Gocompare is a good place to start if you want a decent service at a decent price without the hassle Plenty of choice available with companies who are happy to have your business A few minutes looking elsewhere is time very well spent and you have the reassurance if you need to rely on your insurance then you re in safe hands
