They are all money money money unless you have private insurance that will pay for all the extra tests most unnecessary and they don t care about providing vision care The dispensary sells defective discontinued products that if they break well it sucks to be you

I used FYI for years for myself and my
I used FYI for years for myself and my two sons Every 2 years a new prescription and none of us found them to even help I then asked for my prescription to order online and was treated poorly I switched recently to another optometrist who told me my issue was so minor glasses wouldn t be worth it and overall my eyes were perfect for my age My oldest son didn t need glasses at all and my youngest son had double vision that was never picked up on at FYI doctors and given a routine to help fix the issue before resorting to glasses I always ended up owning a large lump some afterwards even with MB health and my really good insurance whereas at my new optometrist I didn t owe a dime I am gutted to find out that we have spent thousands on glasses while never actually needing them

I went to FYI as two years prior I had
I went to FYI as two years prior I had a detached retina After a fall two weeksI started to see floaters I was told I needed a scan to determine the situation I was told the charge is 70 for the scan After 2 hours I was also charged for an eye exsm which wasnt needed They tested me twice after mixing my charts with someone else They wont let you see the invoice until you pay it either There are alot of elderly there and I can only imagine how they are taken advantage of

Local FYI experience
Broke my glass frames 0ctober 27th 2023 My usual FYI optometrist that I have used for the past 28 years is an hour away from my home so after being informed that our local optometrist was now an FYI franchise I called them to see if I could get my glass frames fixed or replaced I was told that I wasn t a customer of theirs so I would have to go to my optometrist in Regina Before this phone call my husband and I had discussed changing to our local optometrist due to our age and it being more convenient This response to my phone call sealed the deal I will not be going to our local FYI optometrist

Smithers BC-Crappy customer service Ridiculous high prices The actual eye doctors I have seen were actually great but the staff upfront omg made me so frustrated with their tone and demeanour Today I saw an elderly man be miss treated by the lady I was dealing with

I wanted to use my current frames
I wanted to use my current frames because I like them so FYI informed me that they would order the lenses and then I would bring my frames to them for a few hours and they would install the lenses However when that time came I received a call to say the machine they use to install lenses was broken and they would let me know when I could get another appointment So it is now a month later and I called them today Lakefield Ontario and they told me the machine is still not fixed and the part necessary comes from Japan The option presented to me was to bring in the glasses and they would ship to the lab and I would have them back in 7 - 10 days Great I cannot go that long without glasses as I won t be able to drive So I asked where the lab was - in BC Great So you have no partners in the Peterborough area so I am stuck because I paid more than 1300 for 2 sets of lenses one for prescription sunglasses and I have not received anything in return The receptionist told me that they cannot give even an estimate of when they will get the part So you guys are using a machine made in Japan and have a lab in BC In your blurb you say you are the largest supplier in Canada and offer great service So why don t you have parts on hand in Canada for the machines that are made across the world As you can ascertain I am not a happy customer

Don t go
Aesthetically a nice place but if you are someone that has NIHB coverage and have to deal with this establishment be prepared to be treated like a second class citizen Email me my perspiration I need glasses I am teaching a summer class and I stressed the urgency in getting glasses asap But FYI chooses to MAIL in for approval on my health benefits As it Canadian standard post Urgency Not Email not fax not a phone call The administration at FYI said they are waiting on a reply for approval they mailed the request today while I was on the phone I thought she was just saying mail as in email I repeatedly asked for confirmation as in MAIL yes mail standard mail Everywhere else uses the internet for approval just a heads up

Front staff so rude and disrespectful
I called in for an appointment the lady I spoke to was amazing on the phone and in the office However there are two staff up front that should never be allowed to work with people I was asked to brows for frames by the lady who was working with me but as soon as my partner walked into the building the oldest lady here came and made us feel like we are not wanted here and like we re less than Any of them all because she is native we were forced to sit on our hands I then went for my pretesting when I was done I was told to go spend some time to find frames again so as I tried the lady from right hand desk literally speed walked to me and demanded me to go and sit in the back waiting as I tried to explane I was told her tone and designer were very forceful and aggressive then i said id wait out front and i was told no to wait QI 888090Itime with them and rebooked with a different company

Went to FYI Doctors at Tacoma in
Went to FYI Doctors at Tacoma in Dartmouth and had my eye exam done a little over a year ago I never got new glasses because I didn t need any my eyes had been pretty stable for over 10 years Just recently went to get new glasses and found out the prescription they gave me was completely wrong for me I can t use the glasses at all as I cannot see with them on FYI refuses to do anything about it or recheck my eyes Even though they obviously made a mistake I would not recommend going there

Went to the FYI at Tacoma drive worst customer service ever one girl got up and blew a bubble with her gum than popped it there just terrible always give me prescriptions that do not work for me strained for 2 years because of it said there was a freckle on my eye and to come back every year asked if provincial health would cover they said they will call if call me back they never did seems to me they are trying to get more money out of you I have benefits and always have to more money towards the exam and glasses I have good coverage too I am looking for a new optical place to go this one is horrible
