I booked 3 trips with gate 1 for Turkey S Africa and Spain I was suppose to leave for Turkey on March 12 the same day as Trump closed the borders I was worried about refunds and maybe because I knew I wanted to keep traveling I just used the refunds for credits in the future That wasn t any problem I can t say what the hotel guides etc will be like since I haven t been on a trip yet but I m optimistic so far My trip is in March to Kenya Uganda and I ll write more after that time My experience has been good so far so I m giving them a 5

I have traveled with Gate 1 Travel to the Italy Spain Germany Hungary Portugal and Most recently Greece Every single trip was a five star experience The tour managers and local guides were excellent They have earned my trust and respect

I am shocked at all the negative

I am shocked at all the negative reviews I am reading so I had to come on and talk about my experience I ve gone with Gate 1 to Peru Costa Rica and Ecuador and I currently have book with them Guatemala in 2022 and Thailand in 2023 They are an amazing tour group and I have had nothing but great experiences with them I went to Egypt in 2019 with an independent tour operator and while it was a decent trip I actually missed the Gate 1 experience and decided right then I would only travel internationally with them from now on Yes there have been minor glitches now and again but the hotels the guides the places Gate 1 has taken me and my son to were outstanding Thank you Gate 1

Great experience and value

I loved my trip to Spain and my experience with Gate1 was about as great as you can ask for Particularly because of our tour guide Carmen She was phenomenal and I probably learned more from her in a week than if I studied there for a year Carmen had plenty of entertaining stories and went above and beyond to ensure everyone was enjoying themselves Give this woman a raise The trip involved going to about five cities across Spain and the traveling was seamless The driver picked us up and dropped us off right where we needed to be without ever having to wait I saw a ton of cool things and had world class meals The hotels we stayed at were very nice and well located I feel like we got a great deal as well Gate1 is a quality company with even better employees Give them a chance and I m sure you ll keep coming back

Nothing but good experiences

I have traveled with Gate 1 several times both on guided and independent trips My experience has always been positive I have never encountered a problem or misrepresentation from them On a guided trip to Croatia and Slovenia they provided additional meals that were not on the scheduled itinerary when there were some delays due to traffic All representatives I have dealt with are very professional and helpful I had a trip booked for Egypt that Gate 1 cancelled due to COVID19 I have a full credit for what I paid to use towards another Gate 1 trip and cannot wait for travel to open up so I can go with Gate 1 again I highly recommend this company

Just returned from the Kalaidescope

Just returned from the Kalaidescope 15-day Greek Trip Greece is beautiful from Thessaloniki to Athens to the Islands of Mykonos and Santorini The tour guide Angeliki deserves her name Not only is she extremely knowledgeable she is kind gracious and treats everyone as if they are the most important traveler Our return flight was cancelled out of Santorini and other travelers from other groups were affected and the three Gate1 Tour Guides returned to the airport and made sure we were rebooked had hotel plans for the night and took care of us until we were on our way to our destinations This is my third trip with Gate1 and I will book more tours with them Shout out to our Diver on the mainland Nikos who an such a sweet gentleman and our drivers Takis and Demetrios Not to mention Yianis Mariana who treated us as we were in their group during the flight fiasco and then the lovely Constantine - all the people who work for Gate1 deserve our kudos

Such an amazing tour of Sicily

I have been on many tours and this one was amazing And I want to Acknowledge that our tour guide made this trip spectacular and a primer for return trips to Sicily and gate 1 Riccardo Panareo guided us through our tour with compassion and a true love of Italy Not only did he make us feel comfortable but he also was patient and caring Piano Piano

Booked via phone and had a super experience

My parents have been on previous Gate 1 trips and really enjoyed their experience so for their Christmas present this year my husband and I will be taking them on a Christmas markets tour of Budapest Ljubljana and Vienna I was going to book it online as the online process looks pretty straightforward but my father INSISTED that I call and book with Javier because he was so impressed with him And he was right Javier definitely is an expert He made the booking process exceptionally easy and clear and answered our dozen questions with confidence Excited about our trip

Minimal issues and great prices

I ve taken one group tour and five independent trips thru Gate 1 Never had a problem But i ve heard part of my luck has to do with getting the name of the agent and get their extension - so you re always dealing with the same person And fyi - can t beat their prices

Ecuador We adored

We just got back from the Gate 1 Ecuador Andes Amazon tour April 25-April 31 2023 with our fabulous tour manager Daniel Solano We were on a Classic Tour but with 20 guests it felt more personal Daniel took care of our group in the most professional way from start to finish He called us family and we felt like family He was knowledgeable charismatic kind funny helpful considerate- all the very things you hope for in a tour manager It was because of him we believe that our group got along so well and had such a great experience This was our first Gate 1 trip and now know it will be the first of many more to come We loved the places and experiences from Quito through the Andes and Amazon Rain Forest Ecuador is a beautiful and unique country We have traveled with other companies and on our own and this trip rates 5 stars
