Absolute disgrace from the hairdressers department My daughter suffers from anxiety managed to come out of her shell and settle in only to be met with 4 yes FOUR bereavements during her lvl 2 year caught up on all her work got to the end of it not being offered a lvl 3 place dangled about and then told to come back up to the college for a face to face meeting to embarrass her by denying her the lvl 3 which could have been handled over the phone or via email Shocking behaviour from them overall and to belittle someone who has been through so much this past year They blamed her attendance Im sorry but should we ask people to not just die so my daughter can get her bum on a seat to please their numbers so ofstead hand them their funding disgrace of a college lecturers have no tact no respect and no integrity Shameful Would not advise anybody to study there

The whole college is a mess from facilities to materials used to the incompetent staff I returned for the second year in a row to this college for my level 3 evening course Fortunately I had a new job in the industry in which I was training which involved working away I couldn t choose not to work away but a college tutor and the actual course leader told me if I don t stop working from home I would be kicked off the course I told them I don t get to choose where I work and their words were well it sounds like you got a difficult decision to make either get a different job or leave the course The whole point of the course was to supplement and progress my career I had to quit the job I loved and get a different one in a completely different industry just to finish the course so I could get a job in the industry The morons at this college have no real world knowledge all they care about is getting their little ofsted green tick for attendance If I was skiving or too thick to pass I d understand but even when I never attended I was still getting better results than 95 of the class Unfortunately no other college in the north east provided the course so I had no other choice than to attend Gateshead If you can go somewhere else DO IT avoid this college at all costs

Bullied For Being Disabled

I went to Gateshead college to study for a music production degree a couple of years ago The course leader at the time bullied me due to the fact that I am disabled and that I also cared for my late dad I raised a number of complaints at the college and nothing was done this was a total waste of almost ten grand These University Centres need regulating as they are a joke and not a fully one at that I recently contacted them to try to find out what my marks had been for my modules as I passed quite a few but not all and I have been completely ignored This is legal theft and it needs stopped
